Prayers for the family, but where were they when this happened?

The implication seems to be that her family was home and she left the house before dawn in her vehicle, got into a slow-speed crash and the fire was noticed and called in by a neighbor.

They were in the house.

She crashed INTO the garage at low speed and her car burned.

As a lobbyist and with a BIG merger deal pending, she may have pulled an all-nighter at work (or been partying), came home at dawn, passed out as she pulled into her driveway and just drove straight through the door into the garage

In that part of DC, driving those streets at 5AM, she may also have been a crime victim. You have to go through some real bad areas to get to the rich folks’ blocks of restored old homes. Many of those old garages are actually carriage houses from last century- pretty nice places to restore but scary streets just blocks away

If she hit gas cans in the garage, the car burned, as she was unconscious at the wheel

All speculation is breathless gossip pending a cause of death
