If laws could stop evil people there would be no need for any one to be armed. I’d like liberals to try reasoning with a sociopath. Like appeals to the law, conscience or morality will have an effect on those types of people.

I can. The state statutes that prohibit the government from incarcerating mentally ill people until they can be proved to be no danger to self or society...
