Not an argument question but for debate, the FN 5.7 of the Ft. Hood Shooter had a kill rate of 43% in hits. Isn’t kill ratio dependant on shot placement and projectle mass and speed?
Only asking.

Gaston took care of the G22 40 cal kabooms. Regardless, I’ll never own another Glock.

I have a Polish P-64.

Who do you get to help you pull the trigger?

>>Carrying a hot Glock is akin to carrying a hot 1911 with the safety off.

Not even remotely comparable, mechanically.

Look, I’m all for Glocks, and I’m all for 1911s. Misinformation, however, I am against.

Congrats. I have both also, except my HK P2000 is the big brother of your SK. Both are great pistols, and solid.

I carries the 19’ in ‘Nam also. But I thought of it as the same as fixing bayonets. A last ditch effort to survive.

I relied 100% on my M-24 to do the work of getting me back home. And it did just that! I still have it. And I have taken countless Dall's Sheep, Mulies, White Tail, Elk, Caribou, Wolverine, Bear, Wolf, Moose and countless varmints since. (It's currently chambered in 7x57 Ackley Improved in a Heart #6 barrel.) And of course it has the old Mc Millan stock, bedded in Epoxy and Silicone.

Kill rate is based on volume of fire in number of rounds fired and number of fatalities. In close range, civilian Terrorist attacks, they are not trained combatants, they are innocent victims. This ratio is redundant under these circumstances and should not be used. It is a direct insult to trained military veterans and combat protocol.

I also LOVE the 1911, and have shot them for many years in competition. I would NEVER use my competition 1911 for self defense, as a lawyer could have a field day with my "Race Gun" if I were ever to use it for defense.

I feel that the 1911 is the finest combat pistol ever designed, which I also feel is a limitation for me. A 1911 would not be my first choice for self-defense, as I feel it is a combat weapon. Speaking strictly for myself, I'm more comfortable with a revolver in this situation. And I've got the perfect one for me: A S&W 625-5 (with a combat action job by Ron Power) in .45ACP, using full moon clips.

Speaking purely for myself, I'm just more comfortable with a revolver for that use.

Only a smart assed PUNK would make such a hollow comment as that! You need to ask the mods to retract that immediatley!

...you could throw it out the window of the last bus out of Zimbabwe and not feel bad.>/I>

Very true my FRiend. Glocks have zero aesthetic appeal.

1911s are works of art.

Carrying a hot Glock is akin to carrying a hot 1911 with the safety off.

I strongly disagree! It's much more akin to carrying a double action revolver, which also doesn't have a manual safety.

Yeah baby!

The youngsters today are so out of shape and used to their plastic-fantastic world, they can't pick up a real pistol.

That’s very true. A revolver is always ready. No round to chamber, no safety to grope for in the dark, no gas or slide operated ejection and if it is what you are most comfortable using, then it is the best choice. Especially chambered for the .45 ACP.

That’s no cheap weapon you have there either Brother!

I prefer my SW M&P 9mm over the Glock. Would feel secure protecting myself and mine with either.

My SW Model 66 .357 is always a reliable backup.

If you like Swiss engineering you could pick up a Sig Sauer P220.

.

The US Navy SEALS carry the Sig P226.

I agree. If I were to own another striker fired pistol, it would be an XD or M&P.

Ah yes, caliber comparison bashing. The truth is, accuracy is of greater importance than caliber size.

BTW, I own a p220ST in .45 auto, P229 in .40 S&W and .357 Sig, three 1911s in .45 auto, one 1911 in .38 Super, and a few other Sigs and HKs in 9mm.
