The homeowner told deputies he used his AK-47 to shoot at the suspects.
He reported hitting one in the chest.
The suspects reportedly ran, and a witness followed.

There they found a suspect hiding under the mobile home
The area was reportedly searched.
The sheriff's office said deputies discovered items that may have been used during the alleged home invasion.

Use’em if you got’em
If it’s not belt-fed, you’re not serious.
Yeah, but belt-fed is so hard to handle in the house. I still prefer a shotgun if I am under a roof.
You have to have them to use them and the Rats every chance are working to strip honest Americans of the right to bear arms.
Glad to see yelling 'Police' doesn't keep anybody from getting killed doing something which resembles a no-knock raid any more. Police officials should take note here, the guy was entirely within his rights and it would not have made any difference at all if the perps actually had been cops on a no-knock raid.
By the way, anybody who made it to a hospital alive is not the same person who got shot in the chest with an AK at close range, the real perp in this one is lying dead somewhere not too far away from the scene.
Hmmm.... My AK is in the gun safe.
But my pistol grip 870 is within easy reach at night. In the midst of darkness, shouting and confusion, I think the 18” shotgun will answer more decisively. A center of mass hit with an AK is more fortunate than likely, IMO.
It’s coming, more and more every day. The road crew out of Ft. Hancock, etc....etc. This danger is traveling north on a dark horse.
... unless the perp was wearing body armor.

AK-47?
Hmmm, doubt it, even in Texas.
AKM-47 most likely.
Genuine AK-47’s are RARE and expensive.
Difference in cost is about 18,000.00
Oh, and the AK-47 is full-auto capable, the AKM is not.
I have a Sega semi, clip fed shotgun.
More lead down range.
Are you a "journalist"?
Yes there are clip fed shotguns
~~~~~~~~~
"clip" -- or "magazine"?
Photo, please...
Or -- are you a "journalist", too...?
And that AK would have punched right through a typical police vest.
Is this yours?
Only persons who think they know better make a fuss about any more.
You need to get a life.
Yes I know the different between the stripper clips for my 03 Springfield and the magazines for my clock ect
Powder..patch..ball FIRE!
12ga pump - 8 round tube alternating 3” #000 shot and slug.
And I practice....
I did living history during the American Bicentennial.
The Brown Bess musket is nominal 12 gauge (.73 cal). I used to load mine with AA wads & BBs. Also, “buck & ball” was a tactical load during the RevWar.
At close range, there’s nothing like a shotgun.
Good shooting, Citizen. Civilization thanks you. (maybe use a shotgun next time?)
My AK is handy by the bedside, but my primary “things that go bump in the night” gun at this point is a Ruger PC9 with ghost ring sights, a Tac Star pressure switch light and a 32 round magazine loaded with Buffalo Bore 115 grain +P+’s.
A Remington 11-87 police in in my immediate plans.
“WOLVERINES!”
Put up your SECURITY DOG signs ya’ll, doesn't matter if you have a dog or not. The sign speaks volumes and the creeps will go somewhere else.
In the left-wing gun-grabber world, yeah, pretty much. Other interchangeable terms would be "bullet" and "round", and "the it can't fire thingy" and "safety".
Murdered and killed have the same end result. Someone is dead. But the terms definitely are not interchangeable. It isn't elitism, or merely semantics. Words have meaning, and it's important (I think) to use the ones that most accurately convey our intended meaning, even if a less accurate (or inaccurate) term somehow conveys the intended message. It separates us from those who would term my black .22 rifle as a deadly evil nasty illegal fully-automatic assault rifle.
Ok, getting off my soapbox. :)
Will this do?
This misunderstanding goes back a long way. There was a mistranslation of the original Hebrew of the Sixth Commandment which gave us the erroneous "Thou shalt not kill". This has been used by misguided moralists and naive pacifists for centuries to muddle the concepts of justice and resistance to tyranny.
The correct rendering is "Thou shalt not murder", and as you noted, the meaning and relevant applications of the terms are completely different.
Where is the so called “Freedom Warrior” poster now?
This is a perfect example of how criminals are adapating to make homeoners think no knocks are occuring.
Vests come in different configurations, most of them just stop pistol bullets.
The best sign I have ever seen said , “If you are going to trespass, call the CORONER first and identify yourself!” Then in bold red numbers was the local coroners #.
That is a good one! :D
"Sega" shotguns must be used in some sort of video game. '-)
"Saiga" shotguns use "Box Magazines" (and the occasional "Drum Magazine"). Not a "clip" in the whole bunch...
You've even got a clock that takes magazines?
Dang! Where can I get one of those?
