Pope: Christians Replace Jews as ‘Most Persecuted Minority'

Jews, known for centuries as the most persecuted minority, have been replaced in this role by Christians, according to Pope Benedict XVI, who hinted that he was referring to the Islamic tidal wave that is sweeping the world.

Carefully avoiding singling out Muslims for the mistreatment of Christians, however, the pope recently appealed to European nations as well as the Muslim world to protect what he called the most persecuted religion in the world.

Recent attacks on Christians in Egypt, Nigeria and Iran have claimed dozens of casualties. The pope stated, "This succession of attacks is yet another sign of the urgent need for the governments of the region to adopt, in spite of difficulties and dangers, effective measures for the protection of religious minorities."

Iran has a different explanation for attacks on Christians. Ghazanfar Rokn-Abadi, its ambassador to Lebanon, said his country is a model for religious freedom and that “250,000 Christians are living in Iran peacefully and safely.” He blamed the Jews for any physical attacks.

That’s because, thanks to the Israelis, some enemies are afraid to go all out on the Jews. But of course, that won’t last as the US works to weaken Israel.

Oh, I bet some people won’t like the pope saying that - even if it is true.

The reason being that in many muslim areas, Jews have been all but eliminated, so they need to move on to other religions.

I guess the final goal is to eliminate all other religions so they can get down to the serious business of slaughtering each other. Frankly, I just wish they’d just jump straight to that part and leave the rest of us alone!

We can thank the Communist/Socialist Left, with its hate of Christianity and Judaism, for deciding that they could create world chaos by joining the genocidal Islam in its religious intolerance towards Christians and Jews.

DOZENS? This is like the monument in Santa Fe NM about the 1680 Indian uprising saying a “few people” were killed. A large number were killed by the indians, and thousands have been killed in these various countries by moslems.

One wonders why the western state-controlled media have been ignoring it. Intentional? I just finished reading Bertrand Russel, history of the Darwin family, and Quigley. Perhaps there’s a bigger plan which doesn’t include the Judeo-Christian faith. And perhaps it’s not an accident that the EU deliberately made no mention of their historical roots, Christianity in their Constitution, rather appears intent on erasing it. I just posted an article from the Daily Mail - the EU sent diaries to all the schools for the upcoming year at a cost of over 4m - Muslim, Hindu etc holidays, including their EU holiday were mentioned, Christmas and Easter were erased.

A conspiracy? Again - perhaps. IMO, it’s the other way around and we’re being conspired against. The US upped the amount of legal Muslim entry by 10-20 thousand last year for the Pakistani.

History tells us that the Muslims sent the Sufi into India first, the killing machines entered post-softening period.

In the countries where Christians are most violently persecuted there are almost no Jews, because the Jews were the previous targets of the Islamic rage and they fled those countries for sane places like Israel, the US and the UK.

In some places this could get even further out of hand. Israel was just barely able to absorb about a million Egyptian Jews. No nominally Christian country is willing to take almost 9 million Coptic Christians.

Also the Coptics are in a different psychological position: just as Israel is for the Jews, Egypt is their ancestral homeland which was seized from the Copts by Muslim invaders.

Relevant information which much be included for the comment to make sense. Christians are the most persecuted in the Muslim world because they've already expelled or killed all the Jews. Now it's Christian's turn.

“That’s because, thanks to the Israelis, some enemies are afraid to go all out on the Jews.”

There is some truth to your statement, but mainly it’s because the Jewish populations of muslim countries were already killed or expelled.

The Armenians wouldn’t agree with you nor for that matter would the millions of Coptics and Assyrians scattered all over the world.

Images from Iraq Funeral - Nov. 2010

Iraq's top Catholic prelate, Chaldean Cardinal Emmanuel III Delly is seen with the coffins of two slain priests at a funeral mass in Baghdad, Iraq, Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010.

An Egyptian Christian woman stands near a blood-splattered image of Jesus Christ, inside the Coptic Orthodox church in Alexandria, January 2, 2011. A bomb killed at least 21 people outside the church early on New Year's Day and the Interior Ministry said a foreign-backed suicide bomber may have been responsible. Blood was splattered onto the image, which is located near the side gate of the church compound, during the bomb attack.

I’ll agree with that. It certainly true here on FR.

I’m not the Pope, but I might have said: ‘Catholics Replace Jews as ‘Most Persecuted Minority’

The Church thought they could avoid the worst by going along with the Muslim agenda. Liberal Jews are trying the same ploy. Some in the Church tried to warn others. Sixty years ago, Bishop Sheen spoke of the rage in the Muslim world, warning that Arab Nationalism had a religious side that wanted to resume the war against the West. But the Vatican has always had too many people who detested the idea of the Jewish state.

I wouldn't mind if the immigration from Pakistan was limited to those fleeing persecution such as CHRISTIANS.

But why are we bringing in people who will not embrace the values of the West?

That’s the thousand dollar question. Why are we bringing them here... Why Europe? You can bet it was deliberate. I have an idea but it would be viewed as farfetched by many....
