I was once a “liberal,” when liberalism meant something RADICALLY different.

Like “progressive” and “democrat,” these terms were usurped by dedicated Marxist/socialist operatives who have seized the democrat party in a slow motion coup lasting 50 years. The media, the federal bureaucracy, and academia were also 80%-90% captured by these same forces.

Jefferson, Madison, Locke, Smith, Rosseau and Votaire were all considered liberals also. They were concerned with individual liberties (the true meaning of liberalism). The only time the role of government came up with these great philosophical thinkers was for the government to protect the people's individual liberties. Like you, I consider myself a liberal. In the classical sense of liberalism that these great thinkers espoused...
