If he is a Bush person then he is an LBJ Republican.

How did you come to that conclusion? I think you’re badly mistaken.

According to Conservative.org ratings, Hutchinson and Cornyn had 96 and 100 ratings, respectively and Snowe and Collins each had 48.

Not to mention his top priorities as head of the NRSC his top support went to Spector, Murkowski, and Crist.

Now THAT we can agree on. Don't forget Mike Castle.

There are so many good conservatives in Texas like John Culberson or Ted Poe that I could also get enthusiastic about.

Please exempt yourself from the next post I make on this subject. Probably a few others ought to exempt themselves as well.

1. He supports Obamacare. (He told Huffington Post the GOP only wanted to make minor 5% changes)

2. As soon as the Senate adjourned for the summer he rushed off to give an exclusive interview to the Huffington Post to blurt out his true feelings. Not even Collins or Snowe are the pet Senator for the Huffington Post.

3. His favorite Senate candidates were Spector and Crist. He hated Rubio.

I said I don't like either of them...that includes Cornyn.

They are left-leaning RINOs...I just don't think they're any *more* left than Snowe, Collins and some of the other scum in the Senate with Rs after their names.

>After last year’s session, Cornyn rushed out and gave his first interview to the Huffington Post and told them that Obamacare was mostly great, the GOP just wanted to change it 5%. Would any conservative do that? Would even a moderate make the Huffington Post they’re first stop? NO! He is in cahoots with them.<

See below what John Cornyn really said (in the Huffington Post):

“Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and John Thune (R-S.D.) said Wednesday that they plan to vote against moving on the spending bill. If the bill goes to the floor, the senators said, they would use the opportunity to introduce amendments to strip funding for President Barack Obama’s signature health-care reform law before it goes into effect. Cornyn said such tactics are the Republicans’ best hope for stopping the law in its tracks.

“The challenges we are going to have in trying to repeal and replace this failed health care bill are big, particularly given the president’s likely veto even if it were to pass the House and Senate,” Cornyn said. “The best way we have to get to it is through the appropriations process. This bill ... would deny us the ability to do what the American people want, which is to repeal and replace this bill.”

who was a major Republican donor before he was a candidate.

The most important qualifier for sure, the rest don't matter.

“Bush 41 is a disgrace.”

Bush 41 is a Clinton enabler. He looked like a pathetic lap dog following Clinton around after 2000 and assisting in the Pervert-in-Chief’s public rehabilitation. After all the slurs the Clinton’s made against Bush Jr., the old man should have given Clinton nothing but the back of his hand.

Even if that were accurate (which it isn’t entirely) it doesn’t justify what you said before that they are farther left than Snowe or Collins of Maine - it’s not even close and it made no sense for you to say that...

It is 100% accurate. Explain how it isn't? Why would you defend his running to the Huffington Post and saying Obamacare was basically alright. Okay, when he got caught he made excuses, but how dumb do you have to believe that? Why are you defending a guy who despised people like you? You would bash Obama for doing the same things.

Roger Williams is an old used car salesmen. If you ever met him, you would have no doubt about that. He did something back when he was State Treasurer (Gov. Perry appointment) that was an embarrassment and ticked off conservatives (I can’t quite remember what), which forced him to resign. If any other Texas FReepers remember what it was, please pipe up.

I just remembered. Roger Williams wasn’t the State Treasurer, rather he was the Texas Secretary of State. And on his watch, there was a big problem with the computerized voter registration system which the contractor was very late and over budget and had numerous technical problems with. I think it was back in 2002 or so.
