Abortion and the Black Community
"Several years ago, when 17,000 aborted babies were found in a dumpster outside a pathology laboratory in Los, Angeles, California, some 12-15,000 were observed to be black."
--Erma Clardy Craven (deceased) Social Worker and Civil Rights Leader
According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute, black women are more than 5 times as likely as white women to have an abortion
On average, 1,876 black babies are aborted every day in the United States.
This incidence of abortion has resulted in a tremendous loss of life. It has been estimated that since 1973 Black women have had about 16 million abortions. Michael Novak had calculated "Since the number of current living Blacks (in the U.S.) is 36 million, the missing 16 million represents an enormous loss, for without abortion, America's Black community would now number 52 million persons. It would be 36 percent larger than it is. Abortion has swept through the Black community like a scythe, cutting down every fourth member."
A highly significant 1993 Howard University study showed that African American women over age 50 were 4.7 times more likely to get breast cancer if they had had any abortions compared to women who had not had any abortions.
How many are being murdered by black physician’s?
Unbelievable! Black, white, purple 17,000 little souls that have been taken from this earth - murdered. God forgive us. Sickening. Heartbreaking.
That’s why Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the lestists are all pro abortion - population control. Next the elderly - those who just clutter the earth - then the sickly. That’s why their hearts are stone.
Perhaps it's because a certain revered individual wholeheartedly supported such things?
I really doubt anyone could “observe” the race of an unborn child in the first half of a pregnancy. You can’t even tell the race of a six month preemie, really - the poor little things are red and transparent-skinned, and the facial features not fully developed.
And I doubt that 17,000 third-trimester fetuses were dumped in LA in one spot.
Can the pro-life movement please refrain from myth-peddling?
They better watch out, they're both old and sick.
They use it as birth control and payed for by the government.
...and your evidence for the “myth” ?
“Perhaps it’s because a certain revered individual wholeheartedly supported such things?”
OMG! I didn’t know MLK not only supported Planned Parenthood but also received the Margaret Sanger Award. Thanks for the info.
Just a guess but this was outside a pathology lab , not an abortion clinic ,,, could very well be in a “black” part of town ... could be that the remains were tagged or that they had a specific disease somehow associated with them ,, maybe they were aborted because of sickle cell? and were tagged as such by the lab that received them?
Why are you , without evidence , calling this a myth?
I read the link , it was awarded posthumously and accepted by his wife ,, at the time abortion was not yet legal and PP was in the birth control business ... I can see Coretta accepting the award on MLK’s behalf thinking that birth control would keep more women in school ... and I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt that she really didn’t understand Margaret Sanger as everything MLK worked for would be in direct opposition.
Walt Disney has been given several awards here in Orlando by PP.. thanks to donations through United Way .. and disney employees volunteering for PP.
Okay. I have no proof that this event did not occur. I have logic - the impossibility of observing race in early gestation, and the unlikelihood of 17,000 late-term fetuses being dumped - that’s 8 tons of dead babies stored for a while and still undecayed enough to determine race.
Logic, against a quotation from a dead social worker. Find me the new stories. 17,000 dead babies is enough to make the pro-abortion news. We had news today from multiple sources about the Philadelphia abortionist.
I have been pro-life for twenty years and unfortunately I have seen pro-lifers be careless with the truth far too often, or caught up in wishful thinking, too ready to believe anything that makes us look good and the other side look bad.

Is their a specific reason you doubt the statistics? The article above was published just last week.
You really don’t think a pathology lab can ascertain the race of an examination subject?
“A judge has temporarily blocked the release of 17,000 fetuses to people who want to hold a religious burial service. The injunction, issued Tuesday by Judge Dickran M. Tevrizian of the Superior Court, had been sought by the Feminist Women’s Health Center in Hollywood in a complaint filed by the American Civil Liberties Union.”
This happened in 1982 - some ghastly number of babies way back when was niggling at me. I suppose you might figure that most of them were black, by local demographics and abortion rates. And “observed” might mean that kind of reasoning, rather than physical observation...so I guess
I owe you and Bronxville an apology - I’m sorry.
No problem heartwood. Thank you for the information.
“Unbelievable! Black, white, purple 17,000 little souls that have been taken from this earth - murdered. God forgive us. Sickening. Heartbreaking.”
Exactly and that’s the whole crux of the matter. We go down the road of killing our babies and what do we care about killing old people or the mentally challenged, or those “unfit to live” - George Bernard Shaw...etc., it eventually leads to -
The Malthusian Principal (1798)
Who makes the decision as to whose “unfit to live” one might wonder.
Thank God for the consistent courage of the Catholic Church on this issue. I know there have been others as well, but no denomination has so publicly, persistently, and vocally opposed all forms of destruction of human life as the Catholic Church. They deserve our thanks.
Are you sure about the posthumous part? The award was presented on May 5, 1966 and accepted by Martin Luther King's wife, Coretta, on behalf of her husband.
MLK's speech, as read by his wife. during the ceremony reads in part:
There is a striking kinship between our movement and Margaret Sanger's early efforts. She, like we, saw the horrifying conditions of ghetto life. Like we, she knew that all of society is poisoned by cancerous slums. Like we, she was a direct actionist a nonviolent resister. She was willing to accept scorn and abuse until the truth she saw was revealed to the millions. At the turn of the century she went into the slums and set up a birth control clinic, and for this deed she went to jail because she was violating an unjust law. Yet the years have justified her actions. She launched a movement which is obeying a higher law to preserve human life under humane conditions. Margaret Sanger had to commit what was then called a crime in order to enrich humanity, and today we honor her courage and vision; for without them there would have been no beginning. Our sure beginning in the struggle for equality by nonviolent direct action may not have been so resolute without the tradition established by Margaret Sanger and people like her.
It might have been the records of those abortions. Anyway 17000 is a very low number compared with the millions of black babies that have been aborted.
