First Lady Michelle Obama donned a stunning, one-shouldered, red gown on Wednesday night for the state dinner for visiting President Hu Jintao of China.

Her color choice was a gracious nod to her Chinese guests: red, while the dominant color of the Chinese flag, also symbolizes prosperity and happiness in Chinese tradition.

The dress was designed by the label of Alexander McQueen, a beloved British designer who committed suicide less than a year ago.

You just gotta be kiddin’ me!
That thing makes her look as big as a bale of cotton!
And what’s with the screwy illegular neckline”
And the color?
Why mess up red with the dark slashes- or did something fade on it in the laundry?

That was my first thought. For starters, regardless of criticisms about the color, pattern, etc, if you’re going to call it a one-shoulder design, the other arm should be bare!

LOL. Well, I guess, so.
The Communist Chinese/African style dress was bad enough.

That dress looks like a piece of red cloth that was used to wipe up a oily mechanic shop floor!!

But then again the story of the Emperor's clothes comes to mind. These fawning liberal press can NEVER say anything critical against Obama in the same way they can NEVER say anything good about conservative republicans.

"STUNNING" might be a more appropriate word.

Causing or capable of causing emotional shock or loss of consciousness.

.........it looks like she wore it while rebuilding a truck engine.

Old, old truck engine that was missing most of the valve cover gaskets for a year or two.
One thing though, I bet she could manhandle the heads on a Cummings by herself, no shop hoist needed by her ;^)

I can't stand the woman but I must admit, this is the best I've seen her since she and her Kenyan husband moved into the White House.

I’m reminded of the Empire State building being lit in red to honor the Chinese something.

I don’t care much for pandering to Red China. Our trade and financial policies, however, are really no different.

Actually it just looks like one of the straps slid down, like an errant bra strap.
