I’ve had people step right out in front of me, on several occasions and plenty that see you, step out and mossy across the road like they have all day. I don’t remember that kind of
disrespect when I was growing up. I think to many people think, it’s just all about them, now. I also think our multi-task society causes to many distractions as well. People are spreading themselves to thin.

Two days ago a young woman was killed by a train in New Mexico while jogging on the tracks wearing iPod headphones. Accidents such as that seem fairly common, but to attribute it to Michelle Obama is quite the stretch.

I don’t believe that many people pay any attention to anything Moosechelle has to say.

Michelle is definitely responsible for all those injuries and deaths. Minimally, a public apology is in order.

Hey ms two zip code rear end, it is NOT that people are getting run over from your “get moving” program, it is that people are distracted when walking. I walk the dog for 2 1/2 miles several times every weekend wearing a headset and can hear golf carts on the road because I don't have the volume turned up to max.
I have heard other peoples’ music from their headsets when I am in my driveway or in the garage, and they are 50’ away. Don't even get me started on the idiot kids on skateboards who buzz around with headsets blasting music into their ears.

Last summer a teenage girl in my area was killed by an oncoming auto when she and two friends tried to cross I-90 at night by foot. Tragic but sheer stupidity.

What utter nonsense. People have been walking and jogging and exercising long before this person ever suggested any of it. I am not a fan of hers but...people should not be jaywalking or crossing unsafely on the streets or walking without a flashlight at night or going against the rules of the road at ANYTIME.

Typically what I see aren’t agressive pedestrians, but oblivious pedestrians. They don’t even look.

Whenever I visit NY, I’m reminded of the scene in midnight cowboy (which was not in the script - it really happened).
The attitude is, “I’m walking here.”

Alcohol is also factor in increased pedestrian deaths. I can see that Michelle (and her husband) might make people want to drink more. So it's still their fault.

I agree. How about these people are texting, talking, listening to music, simply being oblivious and not paying attention to what they are doing. That’s why they’re getting clobbered.

Stop the madness.
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.
