Pressure was mounting on Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie today amid increasing confusion over whether President Obama was born there. Abercrombie said on Tuesday that an investigation had unearthed papers proving Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961. He told Honolulu's Star-Advertiser: 'It actually exists in the archives, written down,' he said. But it became apparent that what had been discovered was an unspecified listing or notation of Obama's birth that someone had made in the state archives and not a birth certificate. And in the same interview Abercrombie suggested that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Barack Obama may not exist within the vital records maintained by the Hawaii Department of Health. He said efforts were still being made to track down definitive vital records that would prove Obama was born in Hawaii. Abercrombie was asked: 'You stirred up quite a controversy with your comments regarding birthers and your plan to release more information regarding President Barack Obama's birth certificate. How is that coming?' He acknowledged the birth certificate issue would have 'political implications' for the next presidential election 'that we simply cannot have'. President Obama on a visit to Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu in December. The issue of trying to prove he was born in Hawaii rumbles on 'It's a matter of principle with me,' the 72-year-old said. 'I knew his mum and dad. I was here when he was born. Anybody who wants to ask a question honestly could have had their answer already.' Birthers insist Obama, born in 1961, is not eligible to be commander in chief. The reasons often vary, and have changed and expanded in the two years since the Internet rumour began.

Abercrombie, IIRC, said that there was a record in the archives, something “written down,” but wouldn't elaborate beyond that.
Now what does that mean? If there was a long form bc in the archive, why not just come out and say it?
Something “written down” could be just about anything, and fuels speculation that there isn't a long form bc.
No, we are infact saying he is inelgible-long held and well proven laws of citizenship and heredity clearly indicate teh issue, as does our own founding documents’ declaration for eleigiblity.
One’s father delineates nationality and loyalty, so in Obamas case, with his father’s nationality not in question (no one will ever state he (Obama Sr.) was a US citizen) there is no basis to deny the fact that Obama is NOT a natural born US citzen-maybe born in the US, indeed a US citzen perhaps, but like so many others born to a non-US father, they indeed are also ineligible fot high office....

Why is anyone skeptical of “birther” claims? This president was not vetted for the office, there was enough data available to raise this doubt of his elgibility in any case.
His so-called “record” was a disgrace right off the bat, he had no experience at anything, his educational background was sealed, decreed untouchable, what else do we need to point to fraud?
Our “rulers” pass leviathan UNREAD bills effectively destroying not only our, but our grandchildren’s futures in one fell swoop and we all sit on our hands like idiots and actually think that we’ll just “vote” our way back to Federalism. No way, once such power is usurped and brought into play, a real fight is going to be necessary to even bring it to a halt much less any return to “the way we were”.
Amazing how we kowtow to PC which is the death of this way of government. Not WILL be, it already is the death of our way of life and now we have a dictator who is ruling by executive order, a Supreme Court that does not make decisions based on the US Constitution and a hoard of “Czars”, petty and dangerous tyrants accountable to no one except the One, nothing less.
We are so PC that we’re accusing people (Palin, Beck, Limbaugh) of murder based on what? Now THAT is the most dangerous of propaganda because what follows is action based on that propaganda, history has taught us that but we ignore what history has taught us. And the most upsetting of all is the percentage of people who go along with this outrage.

I think they imp. thing we learned from Gov. Tubby is that they are suggesting/saying they don’t have it. This is significant news.
The “birther” is a pejorative to avoid actually discussing the issue.
Leftists use similar tactics in almost all issues.
Example: Pelosi’s response to the question of whether 0bamacare was constitutional.
“Are you serious? Are you serious? This is NOT a serious question!”
It is very hard to find what never existed.
Abercrombie is supposedly pretty tight with Obama which makes me think that this is a political operation, Abercrombie raising the issue of Obama's birth documentation. I think that this is designed to tempt the House Republicans to overreach by opening an investigation, the result of which would be a political showdown that would cast the Republican's as the heavies.
Whatever the Truth here I just don't think that there's "anything to get" at this point. Too much time has past.
Far better to investigate Obama's policies as they intersect with the ongoing economic disaster.
What "rumour" is that? And why isn't 0bama's claim of Hawaiian birth referred to as an "unsubstantiated claim?" Because that's what it is.
The cover-up continues.
And the burden of proof remains on Obama to prove he possesses the appropriate constitutionally-required credentials to be president.
In the meantime, I will continue to call him what he is: the alleged president.

Is it my imagination, or didn’t the previous governor, or attorney general, or whatever of Hawaii stand up on national television and announce to the world that she had personally seen Obama’s birth certificate a couple of years ago
Don’t most people have a copy of their own birth certificates? Obama’s traveled overseas so we know he somehow obtained a passport. He would have had to have presented a birth certificat, real or forged, to get a passport. Why won’t he simply present that and end all this?

The thing that troubles me most, with this entire issue, is that Chief Justice Roberts swore him in. Did he get satisfactory proof of 0bama’s Constitutional eligibility? Has he ever said he did? If not, why did he think it wasn’t necessary?
I put nothing past 0bama, but would like to believe that Roberts knows his duty.
Obama is phenomenal at securing his original birth certificate and other personal records. I think he should teach the CIA and the FBI his methods on how to safeguard classified information.
