PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, January 20, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A massive, photograph-laden Grand Jury Report released Wednesday has detailed the bone-chilling practices of a Philadelphia abortionist, who clinic workers testified had delivered “hundreds” of living, breathing newborn children before severing their spinal cords or slitting their necks to complete the abortions.
Abortionist Kermit Gosnell was arrested Wednesday for eight counts of murder. One of the charges was for the botched-abortion death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar, a Nepalese refugee. The other seven were for children who police had discovered, by examining their remains, had been born alive and then killed.
District Attorney R. Seth Williams released the 281-page report that was the basis for the murder charges against Gosnell and nine of his associates. Included in that report were photos of some of Gosnell’s victims.
In the report, the Grand Jury notes that several agencies and groups became aware of what has become known as Gosnell’s “shop of horrors,” but did nothing. They also provide extremely explicit descriptions of botched abortions, late-term abortions and infanticides rarely seen in court documents.
“Pennsylvania law requires physicians to provide customary care for living babies outside the womb. Gosnell chose instead to slit their necks and store their bodies in various household containers, as if they were trash,” stated the report.
The report provided detailed testimony from clinic staff who said that “killing large, late-term babies who had been observed breathing and moving was a regular occurrence” at the filthy clinic: one staffer said such events happened “hundreds” of times.
Another clinic worker, Tina Baldwin, told the jurors that Gosnell once joked about a baby that was writhing as he cut its neck: “that’s what you call a chicken with its head cut off.”

I never heard of the National Federation of Abortion. Every person in the Gosnell clinic is guilty. The reason no one notified any authorities is that these abortionist are afraid of democrats and Now.
Yep, and it has all the Orwellian language games surrounding it that you would expect. I know someone who worked as an intern at an abortion clinic while a grad student. She was instructed never to use the word “baby” or even “fetus” when speaking with clients. Instead the correct word was “tissue”, as in “the doctor will remove the tissue”.

Horrible and cruel, yes. But certainly not illegal. People in this country, particularly women, have the legal right to do this to their babies. As for the death of the woman, late term abortions are a surgical procedure, and have the risks of such.
I don't quite understand what's driving the efforts to go after this guy, other than he's not part of some group of physicians and is getting muscled out of the death business. Perhaps he wasn't charging enough? That would be my guess.
You might want to ask yourself to what extent "conservative" and "prolife" politicians are protecting them, too, by ceding all authority to judges and being satisfied with trying to "regulate" abortion rather than banning it.

You just know that if this monster was murdered by a radical anti-abortionist, the left would make a martyr out of him.
Just 5 % of the kind of publicity from the Tucson incident attaching this demon and the abortion industry would damage the “choice” side and likely prevent hundreds if not thousands of abortions of women who may decide to keep the baby vs. risk running into another guy like this.
The Freaking NAF (National Abortion Federation, Co-founder was Bernard Nathanson Silent Scream) “IS” the trade organization for the abortion business. Their own inspector saw the violations and did nothing. How many other “un approved” clinics are just like this. We don't know and they can't prove he's the only one. Every six months there is a “new” “outlier” discovered.
Get NAF to brag about their approved clinics on National TV and you will sow discord within the industry.
Where are the pro life groups, can't anyone write a press release anymore. Did the prolife movement wear out when the old guard like me got old?

If police or the district attorney are so concerned about partial birth abortions, there is enough evidence to arrest every abortion provider in the city. When a clinic aborts 20 babies a day, where do you think the corpses go? It's called the dumpster! They don't have a magic wand that turns them into butterflies and they fly away.

All abortionists are butchers and murderers, this one is just especially heinous and got caught. What is the difference in killing a baby right after it’s born or right before? The way they kill is the same, they shove scissors in the back of the head, suck the brains out and then crush the skull and pull the baby out of the womb. It’s just one is killed in the womb and the other after it had taken a breath or two. It’s barbaric and hideous, hilter would be proud.

From what I read, it was the death of a patient that brought the charges. Evidently some woman from Nepal was overdosed with anesthesia administered by some high school kid. I guess the late term abortions were performed on infants that were at least 8 months in the womb and certainly able to live on their own. That is certainly illegal. I just hope that this horror will force legislators to reconsider abortion as a legal right and make it a crime once again.

Morally, the result is the same wherever the child is at in its development, at any point after biological inception. It’s the unjust death of an innocent person.
And our Constitution requires more than once that “no PERSON shall be deprived of life without due process.”
And due process means being charged, tried and convicted on a capital offense.

In my opinion, the only even remotely appropriate and just punishment which society can inflict on a monster who would do such things to its smallest, most innocent, living, breathing human beings, is death by hanging.
Of cousre, I can think of some things I would LIKE to see done to such a person BEFORE the hanging, but they would most likely not pass Constitutional muster...
Are you serious? He did nothing illegal? These babies were born alive, and he killed them. What’s wrong with you? In fact, these babies are alive from the moment of conception.
I get sick at my stomach at the bleeding hearts who get all hyped up over waterboarding a terrorist, but, sanction the killing of the innocent unborn.

Seven of the murder indictments are for babies who were allegedly fully delivered, born alive, were moving and breathing, and who had their spinal cords cut in half by this man’s scissors.
