PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, January 20, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A massive, photograph-laden Grand Jury Report released Wednesday has detailed the bone-chilling practices of a Philadelphia abortionist, who clinic workers testified had delivered “hundreds” of living, breathing newborn children before severing their spinal cords or slitting their necks to complete the abortions.
Abortionist Kermit Gosnell was arrested Wednesday for eight counts of murder. One of the charges was for the botched-abortion death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar, a Nepalese refugee. The other seven were for children who police had discovered, by examining their remains, had been born alive and then killed.
District Attorney R. Seth Williams released the 281-page report that was the basis for the murder charges against Gosnell and nine of his associates. Included in that report were photos of some of Gosnell’s victims.
In the report, the Grand Jury notes that several agencies and groups became aware of what has become known as Gosnell’s “shop of horrors,” but did nothing. They also provide extremely explicit descriptions of botched abortions, late-term abortions and infanticides rarely seen in court documents.
“Pennsylvania law requires physicians to provide customary care for living babies outside the womb. Gosnell chose instead to slit their necks and store their bodies in various household containers, as if they were trash,” stated the report.
The report provided detailed testimony from clinic staff who said that “killing large, late-term babies who had been observed breathing and moving was a regular occurrence” at the filthy clinic: one staffer said such events happened “hundreds” of times.
Another clinic worker, Tina Baldwin, told the jurors that Gosnell once joked about a baby that was writhing as he cut its neck: “that’s what you call a chicken with its head cut off.”

I predict we're going to find out about that, and it will be good for us to know, one way or the other.
Rick Santorum once asked Nancy Pelosi when a baby had a right to live. Could a baby be legally killed if only her foot were inside the birth canal? ... etc. Pelosi refused to answer the question. Wesley Clark said once that a baby was a person when the mother decided the baby was wanted. I believe Barbara Boxer once said it was when the baby was brought home from the hospital.
It's time to bring America face-to-face with what that means. Can a living, viable, healthy baby be killed after birth for no reason except that her mother wants her dead?
If so, what logical, rational reason can be given to limit the killing to within a few hours after birth? Why not permit parents to do away with obstreperous two-year-olds? Why not permit parents to kill their children until they start kindergarten (after that, the government has an investment in their education, and we wouldn't want to throw that away, would we?) ??
If, on the other hand, killing that baby is murder, then it's just as much murder to kill her a few moments before birth when she's in the womb.
It's fascinating to watch the Left try to run away from from the implications of what they support, like cockroaches in a sudden bright light.

"Certainly"? As far as federal law is concerned, a woman has a Constitutional right to have her child killed right up to the moment of birth. The states have some ability to regulate it, but they're hamstrung by court decisions relating to "undue burdens" placed on a woman who wants her child killed.
And don't fool yourselves into thinking that all of us will not get the blame.

If a girl/woman delivers spontaneously in her home and then smothers her baby, puts it in a garbage bag and discards it in a dumpster, and gets caught, she is indicted for Murder, not Abortion.
This “doctor” induced labor to women in their third trimester. They Delivered Live Babies, who took a breath or many, before the “doctor” cut their spinal cords.
The evidence exists of the bodies recovered from his premises. Autopsies showed that the babies had air in their lungs. They had lived outside the womb and were subsequently killed.
He is guilty of Murder, not the legally allowed procedure of abortion.

Yes I understand that. I’m wondering how many other abortionists are doing the same type of thing? Or have done the same type of thing. Once you start down that slippery slope of abortion as abortion doctors have. Seems to me you will reach a point where you will be able to justify the killing of any one.
The abortion workers that knew this and yet kept quit and kept working there should be charge as an accessory to murder.

Yes, the pro aborts will temporarily go into hiding to emerge later to state their support of a “woman’s right to choose”. Too bad about the dead women, though! I read that somebody from the National Abortion Federation had inspected the premises and refused membership to the doctor/monster. This person (and I wonder if it is Vicki Saporta) should have gone to the Health Dept. and police immediately but did no such thing. All the enablers in the abortion industry are complicit as they refuse any and all sensible guidelines.

You just reminded me that our president once sat and listened to testimony that described very similar circumstances.
He was unmoved.
If memory serves me correctly - his only concern was with the abortionist and not placiing too much of a “burden” on these poor people by asking them to save a life they were just trying to snuff out a few moments earlier.
Of course there is something wrong with this doctor. Unfortunately it's not just him.

I have discerned that the reason most libs ARE libs is for the simply reason that they desire to feel good about themselves. Acknowledging they support a guy that would do something so evil would be a devastating blow to their own sense of “I’m a good person”.

And if the pregnant woman is walking herself to the abortion clinic but gets hit by a drunk driver which causes a miscarriage - the driver could be looking at manslaughter charges for the death of the fetus.

I just find that to be more problematic than the scapegoating of this doctor for reasons yet undetermined. The state knew this was the norm for the doctor. They had been inspecting his place for decades.
As for tossing babies in the dumpster, what are you supposed to do with them? You just killed them with the blessing of the state! I think you should make the mothers take the remains home with them for them to deal with IAW local regulations which may or may not be violated.
Don’t forget they also believed that it would be too trumatic for the mother if the child were allowed to live.
Just follow the money trail especially where Michelle has been involved - deep support for any type of abortion including what was practiced in PA by this monster.
That kind of logic all suicide attempts that fail should then face execution.

When you get to the heart of it - it seems to me that a certain faction of “women” decided that a uterus is a curse.
They became so infatuated with “equality” and yet men don’t pay the same, equal, consequence for casual sex.
They want women to be able to act like men - and yet they don’t want the obvious “punishment”.

What we are actually experiencing for real here is an Atlas Shrugged moment in time. That being everything is made a crime on the edges. One can still conduct themselves in the normal course of daily life stepping in and out of these crimes/not crimes. Then once they need to make someone a criminal, they just document the edges of the normal they've been up to. Everyone has become a criminal, it's just a matter of the state wanting to make use of it.
The state is making use of this guy and I have yet to figure out what his crime is, that the state insists that others down the street do as legal?

A matter of inches is not really making it better or worse. It is what it is. In a strange sort of way, the doctor is murdering in plain view what others deem ok to do as long as nobody sees. I would go out on a limb and say that’s what makes pro abortion people uncomfortable with this guy. His technique is too real. No pretending. I find this doctor more honest than his peer group.
What sickens and saddens me is what leads women to have abortions in the first place. Selfishness, or lack of support from the men who impregnanted them, or the decisions women make to engage in wanton premarital sex without considering the consequences ...all of it — just ALL of it is one big pot of boiling MESS.
A 27 year old young friend of mine just had an abortion. She is a smart and intelligent young woman with the means to support a child, but between the doc telling her it was “just a clump of cells” at this point, and a disgusting unsupportive selfish boyfriend, AND the shame she believed would be brought upon her by her family, she didn’t have a chance ...or, the baby didn’t have a chance.
SO many things in society need to change ...of course, abortion laws DO need to change ..but we need to change the reason WHY women feel abortion is the ONLY choice they can make. We also need to know the full and brutal truth of abortion — and continue to knock down those arguments about personhood. They still ring too strong for too many.
If abortion is legal, how is disposing of the byproduct illegal? What is the legal method by which the state has a standard for dumping the dead babies? A large blender and down the drain? Incineration? What?

This guy was an “extremist”.
He was a true believer and enjoyed his job too much.
If you are going to kill babies for a living - do it “moderately” - with style and a good bedside manner.
Don’t freak out the staff.
Perform the “procedure” quietly, and pat the woman on the back when you’re done.
Shedding a tear or two definitely helps.

Keep in mind that Obama was involved in the laws on abortion in Illinois where an aborted baby was not to be asssited if born alive. Left on a table to die did not seem to bother Obama at all. There was testimony from a nurse that was quite sad on the matter of leaving live babies to gasp and die while medical assist was so close.
They used to put them in dumpsters until the pro-lifers started going through the garbage and taking photos.
They also did weird things like - burying the babies in a grave and praying for their souls.
So - I thought that’s when they switched to incineration - concentration camp-style.
