U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Memphis, disgraced us all this week when he compared Republicans to Nazis in an almost empty House chamber. With the smell of gunpowder from the Tucson, Ariz., mass killings and President Barack Obama's words of reconciliation still hanging in the air, he derailed any steps toward civility in favor of partisan exaggerations beyond the bounds of decency.
Cohen accused the GOP of lying about health care reform and then compared their tactics to those of notorious Nazi propaganda chief Josef Goebbels. He then said, echoing Republican former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, that the GOP was engaged in "blood libel" of Democrats.
That kind of rhetoric is precisely what Obama warned against Jan. 12 during his speech after the Tucson shootings. . . .

Cohen is the new Alan Grayson.
There is no debate. There is only vilification.
They won't.
He has some big shoes to fill.
Clown shoes usually are.
Why warn Democrats not to act like asses? When your enemy is digging his grave, don’t stop him.
ZERO TOLERANCE FOR MARXISTS IN US GOVERNMENT
COHEN IS ON THE LIST OF MARXISTS IN CONGRESS
From http://soquelbythecreek.blogspot.com/2010/08/socialists-in-united-states-congress.html
The following members of Congress are Marxists and terrorist coddlers who have rebranded themselves as Progressives in an attempt to hide their agenda
Nancy Pelosi was one of the original members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and only left when she was named Minority Leader.
The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) was established in 1991 by five members of the United States House of Representatives: Representatives Ron Dellums (D-CA), Lane Evans (D-IL), Peter DeFazio (D-OR), Maxine Waters (D-CA), and Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
Then-Representative Bernie Sanders was the convener and first. The founding members were concerned about the economic hardship imposed by the deepening recession, the growing inequality brought about by the timidity of the Democratic Party response at the time.
Additional House representatives joined soon, including Major Owens (D-NY), Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), David Bonior (D-MI), Bob Filner (D-CA), Barney Frank (D-MA), Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), Jim McDermott (D-WA), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Patsy Mink (D-HI), George Miller (D-CA), Pete Stark (D-CA), John Olver (D-MA), Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), and Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
All members are members of the Democratic Party or caucus with the Democratic Party. There are currently 82 total declared Progressives including 79 voting Representatives, 2 non-voting Delegates, and 1 Senator.
Using information from the Center for Responsive Politics (OpenSecrets.org), I separated the members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus into four groups, based on a subjective review of his or her major contributors. Where appropriate, there is a link to an associated video highlight of the Congressman’s/women’s sheer brilliance.

We're all way too civil with these tyrants. They have waaaaay more in common with Stalin & Hitler than Jefferson & Madison. Both parties. Criticize while you can. Soon we will be rounded up, if that hasn't started already.
I would strongly disagree. The Democrat party and Steve Cohen himself are fervent promoters of the barbarian practice of abortion. Abortion has resulted in the systematic murder of approximately 1.2 million Americans per year for the past several years. This is a Holocaust as great or greater than any in recorded history.
Agreed - neither does the discussion of the application of socialist policy. Both should be considered reprehensible behavior and banish from American politics.
I still can’t believe the little commie creep got himself elected in a place like Tennessee. It’s a really strange world we live in.
***U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Memphis,....... in an almost empty House chamber.***
Grandstanding for the home audience.
Memphis
Hey, hey, let’s go overboard on this guy.
After all we should all be used to being called Nazis by now; another day, another Nazi reference.
I’m not sure which I’ll be called first on any given day, a Nazi or a racist.
They play up the nazi thing, then they say that if you call them “socialists” or “marxists” - which they are - you are being uncivil.
It’s a trap.
It sure Is....a trap.
.of course, They would never (ever) lie...they're hypocrites.
*************
Concur....
Makes me wonder if he is a distant cousin of the other Cohen...
That Borat guy...
Both pretty ridiculous...
...Neither very funny
Maybe worth a *google*??
Its even stranger than that. TN-09 is the “black” seat held by Harold Ford, then his son Harold Ford, Jr, who stepped down in 2006 to run for the US Senate (he lost). This seat was drawn to elect a black and the Fords owned this seat for over 30 years.
Since 2006, the “black” seat has been held by this socialist Jew Steve Cohen, who spends a lot of time pandering to his black district. It was he who offered up the apology for slavery as a bone to his base.
Some day, the blacks are going to get a real candidate and sweep this trash from office but the new guy will probably be a defective also. I live in the hood in this district, so I know the pitifulness of this area well.
