"Haley said the state's budget situation requires the legislature to make cuts to anything that is not a "core function" of South Carolina government."

If you can believe Wikkipedia:
Haley identifies herself today as a Christian, but also attends both Sikh and Methodist services out of respect for her parents’ culture. She sits on the board for Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church.

“Have them SELL their art and see if anyone wants it.”
When I lived in California, artists organized “Straving Artists Sidewalk Sales” at Fisherman’s Wharf.
It was a good opportunity for artists to see if their “art” had any popular appeal and value. Most was garbage. But I did manage to buy a few pieces that proudly sit in my attic today gathering dust. Unfortunately for me, no future Van Goghs in my buys.

EXCELLENT! Better than any other so called art I have seen lately.

Thx for the ping;
Why are ‘artists’ even subsidized by the people who make utilitarian products or grow food and build houses???
My house painter is an artist!!! Where is his endowment???

Good for her. After all, how many Dale Earnhardt Sr. on black velvet paintings does the world need.

The group called on members to contact members of the legislature and ask them to protect the commission. It has also planned a rally at the statehouse for Feb. 8 to ask lawmakers to preserve the Arts Commission. A weekday...figures. I guess none of these folks have real jobs.
Thanks for the ping.

What can you say? Nikki just kicks major ass.
I’m going to try and be at the Tea Party event in Greenville tomorrow, btw. I’ll be easy to notice: The really handsome man with the bright red Nikki Haley t-shirt on.
