T. PETERSBURG - Three law enforcement officers were shot this morning – a U.S. Marshal and two St. Petersburg police officers – in the 3700 block of 28th Avenue South, police said.
A suspected gunman is barricaded in a home at 3726 28th St. S., and police are trying to negotiate with his family members. He is still shooting at police, officers said.
One of the injured officers had been in the home as well, but an armored vehicle knocked down the door and the officer was evacuated. That officer has been taken to Bayfront Medical Center.

I don’t know if that’s him or not. The name seems to be fairly common.
Hydra Lacy, Jr. is suspect, criminal history back to 80’s, violent crimes and registered sex offender that was not reporting in.

Listening just now to interview with neighbor- perp said he’d go to hell before he’d go back to prison...also something about him being the brother of a well-known boxer?
Update: suspect still in house, surrounded by a zillion police, power has been shut off.
Add a policeman shot during a traffic stop in Lincoln City, OR to your total. Things a bad all over, getting crazy.

Thank God the military was there. They should have used a drone like they did in Texas (Domestic use of aerial drones by law enforcement likely to prompt privacy debate) in 2009.
Hospital news conference just reported both St. Pete officers have died. Sad day for LE and prayers for the family and friends of those that died protecting those they swerve.
My township has had exactly one murder some 30 years ago and one shooting about 3 years ago (Out of towners)
We had a local police department until 3 years ago and the chief told me that he had never pulled his gun in the 25 years he had been here.
I heard. What an awful week for LE across the country.
Actually, with the number of laws making blinking in the general direction of a law enforcement officer a felony, we could disarm our LEOs and make the armed criminals the REAL bad guys.
Shoot an unarmed LEO (wound or kill), instant death penalty.
Two St. Petersburg police officers are dead. The U.S. Marshal was shot in the leg, and is in stable condition.

That’s one of those “Big Lies” that started as spin and then assumed a life of its own. It was the Left that led the charge to close mental hospitals on the grounds it was against a person’s rights to keep them their against their will.
To this day I encounter people who blindly repeat the “Reagan’s Fault” mantra and have no idea what they’re talking about.
