During the 2006 midterm elections, White House political aides to President George W. Bush engaged in widespread violations of a federal law which limits partisan political activity by government employees, a long-running federal investigation has found.
A report issued Monday by the little-known Office of Special Counsel cites numerous violations of the Hatch Act and concludes that federal taxpayers ended up footing the bill for activities that were intended

Hahahahaha! If they really got serious about the Hatch Act, half the people in DC would be fined or in jail.
A perfect example why bureacrats MUST be held accountable for their salaries. 5 YEARS to come out with a report. You have GOT to be kidding.
Wake me up when Politico does the same story on Obama.
Note to the nitwit leftists stressing about this —> Get back to me when you’ve reeled in all of your offenses... a big one being Obambi’s birth certificate ... another: John Kerry’s SF-180 ... yet another ... expelling Rangell and Waters from Congress... etc. etc. etc.
Ded Kennedy (D-HELL) killed a girl and got less scrutiny than W.
as soon as Guam sinks.......
Just more noise from the MSM to justify all the elections law violations the left plans for the next election.
June Shih, wife of Josh Gerstein, from 1995 to 2000 was a speechwriter for President Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton and later was the chief speechwriter for Mrs. Clinton’s senatorial campaign.
I don’t know what is the most pathetic thing here. 5 years int he making? It coming out now? will they continue the investigations into the current Administration? That these bearocrats have the gall to charge Taxpayers for all kinds of crap. I just don’t know.
Golly gee willikers, Josh! Did you do any deep research to see if the Obama staff is engaged in the same thing? No? You didn't? Well, why the hell not?
This comes up now because Issa is about to launch some effective investigations and the other side is desperately searching for something to counteract that.
This is how tyranny operates.
1. Pass a host of oppressive laws so that just going about normal business results in committing a crime.
2. Refuse to prosecute your political allies.
3. Strenuously prosecute your political opponents, or “enemies” as the president likes to call them.
So would not Obama sending fundraising e-mails to active duty military members .mil accounts rise to “law breaking”?
Don’t you know only Democrats can get away with those things. Foolish Republicans.
Basically, state-run media is running interference.
politico is going the way of Huffpo, DU and all the other Leftist drivel. I hardly ever pollute my mind with their propaganda.
Bush aides - Guilty of being Republicans. Given the nature of things, it’s hard to see how you can totally segregate politics from governing. I have a hard time believing Republicans are more guilty of politicizing government than Democrats.
Bush isn’t President. In a post-partisan world transformed by Obama, shouldn’t we just move on?
