Must have removed Lousenberg from his crypt for this one.

I'll start saying positive things about New Jersey voters the minute they vote against that fossil.

Yep, they’re just responding to the historical document, you know, where Tom Cruise analyzed the prospects of knowing what other people were certain to do.

...oh, wait a minute, that was a movie, wasn’t it.

Wonder if these Senators realize that.

" ... help prevent ... "

Help prevent?

I help the enviornment when I'm not smoking and I'm helping to pollute it when I am ,,, but I'm still killing myself.

The word 'help' is one way they try to pass law without much opposition.

How do people like this get elected? If the perp did not have a gun he could not have shot anyone. So let us punish and take guns away from law abiding citizens. Then only non law abiding people will have guns. Great thinking! ...ehhh?

Or, these misguided legislators with disordered minds, can put up signs that say "No gun zone." That will work! What happened to common sense?

“There is no legitimate reason for civilians to have 30-round magazines,” Paul Helmke, president of the Brady organization, said in a statement.
There is no constitutional reason for Helmke or anyone else to tell me what size clip I can own.

Want to enact gun control that is constitutional? Repeal the 2nd amendment. Go ahead. Try. I dare you.

"Would help prevent such violence as the Tucson attack that left six dead and 14 injured"

How???? Didn't the original AWB magazine limits lead directly to the resurgence of interest in the .45 ACP pistol, as well as the popularity of the .40 S&W and .357 Sig calibers today? (A 1911 magazine capacity is 7 or 8 rounds vs. about 13-17 rounds in a 9mm pistol with a flush-fitting magazine.) How can being shot with a larger caliber, more powerful weapon possibly be better for the victim?

There is a "Law of Unintended Consequences"...

Three federal gun-control bills introduced Tuesday would help prevent such violence as the Tucson attack that left six dead and 14 injured, according to the New Jersey Democratic senators sponsoring the package. One bill, called the “Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device Act,” would prohibit the manufacture and sale of firearm magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Such a ban existed until 2004, when it was not renewed by Congress.

This one is going to pass. The grabboids have learned from the AWB experience. They won't make an omnibus gun control bill, they will pick off the low-haning fruit with easily passed targeted bills. And there will be no sunset provision. The Rats will easily get 50 RINOs to vote for the "Gabby Giffords Law To Keep Maniacs From Buying Massacre-Maker Magazines."

Anybody who votes against this "common sense" bill will have their picture in the MSM between Cho and Loughner. "Why does Congressman Smith want maniacs to be able to buy these mass-murder magazines?"

The only question is: will our currently owned magazines be grandfathered?

See my last. The magazine law will pass. Even Dick “Shotgun” Cheney says “We don’t need those magazines.

Squishy RINOS will vote for the high cap mag ban, they believe it will make them appear “reasonable” on “gun safety.” They are already saying, “We’re not coming after your guns, don’t worry. Just those evil mass-murder magazines.”

Buy them now, while you can. When the high cap mag ban is passed, there will not be a sunset provision.

OH cool, while that are at it, maybe they should propose laws that make murder illegal. Or assult on a federal official. Or reckless discharge of a firemarm. Or whatever.

Hey Jersey senators, how are your states gun laws working in Camden or Newark?

WHY is a premiere gun-grabbing leftist scumbag like Helmke getting the terminology correct (magazine), and a Freeper getting it WRONG (clip)?

I thought the reason the NRA was supporting Reid was to prevent this from happening.

They say these new regs would have “helped prevent” the Tucson attack.

I’d like to see them make the case, under cross examination.

No, the reason the Tucson attack happened is that the lunatic’s mother worked with the sheriff who refused to lock him up or commit him.

"Hey Jersey senators, how are your states gun laws working in Camden or Newark?"

The last study I saw indicated that firearm ownership by African-American households was less than half that of white households. So if the goal of gun control is to disarm particularly vulnerable citizens who live in high-crime areas, you'd have to say it's working very well.
