You have grandkids on the way? Bless your heart, and congratulations!

Ahem, I didn't make myself at all clear. A couple of the grandkids are up for the weekend. Weather permitting I'm gonna teach them the fine art of finding and if necessary, digging up petrified palm wood tomorrow.

And yep, I'm worried to death about the America we might be leaving for them. Some legacy if we can't regain some semblence of the America that once was.

Thank you for the clarification. It’s great that you already have them, and they are coming for a visit. Grands learn so much from us. ;o)

My youngest grand is having a birthday party on Sunday afternoon...a bouncing party. I think it’s a large building with trampolines. I will be in attendance, but I don’t think I will be bouncing. lol

I’m as concerned about her future, and the future of her two older brothers, as you are concerned about the future of your grands.

Do you actually believe in the current political and social climate we find ourselves in we would see ANY improvement in our Constitution. Most of our Founders were erudite men of exceptional character and accomplishment. What they produced has been and is admired around the world by freedom loving people as the ultimate document(s). Not to be rude but, I don't want any of whatever it is you're smokin'. The DOCUMENT is not even remotely the primary problem. We The People were lulled into complacency by pols intent on implementing socialism cheered on by an adoring and like minded press. We should have known better.

I heard an interesting proposition today. Let those states who are in need of a bailout go bankrupt...Chapter 9, I believe...and then let them not be states anymore, but be territories

Hey that's not a bad idea. . . the blue broke lib states can leave.

"The federal judiciary interprets the meaning of the Constitution, and when that reaches the SCOTUS, the decisions are final.

Oh they're final all right, but how will nine old lawyers enforce their decisions when a majority of the State governments ignore them? The Federal government, as powerful as it has become, is still an 'invention' of the States. It was devised to aid the states in their various interstate actions and to facilitate international affairs. Once the federal government steps outside those restraints it also leaves the protective embrace of the Constitution. One must remember that the Constitution is a two-way street which both the States and the Federal government must adhere too or it will become a double-edged sword. As powerful as we have allowed the SCOTUS to become we have to remember that the final power still remains with the people. Let us all pray that the various branches of the Federal leviathan understand this before they have to be shown. None of us will like that.

You don’t need to shut up at all! I love your sass and fire!

The only reason I mentioned that I live in a blue state is that I’ve got experience to back up my bumping your post.

You are a real sweetie, and I would love to live in my beloved MS...but that would make one heck of a commute for my husband. ;o)

“What a dumb waste of time. Nullification? What’s next? Secession?”

If necessary yes. You claim to be an anti-federalist well we trying to do something about it.

“But that’s not nullification. It’s civil disobedience. Nullification, as a legal doctrine, is nonsense.”

That is certainty what the Federal employees in black-robes will say. We aim to make them learn to respect the limits of their authority whether they mean to or not.

If we disarm the Federal Government of their few domestic enforcement agents and take on the responsibility of enforcing their few essential and legitimate domestic functions. We can render them fully impudent(As sphere to mostly like they are now) at least insofar as the domestic sphere goes.
