The sound of freedom baby! F-15’s cruise by my office all the time. I love the wall-rattling vertical take-offs followed by all of the car alarms going off.

I, for one, LOVE airplane noise! I was stationed near a U.S. Air Force Base in Germany in the '70s. There was a story going around that the some of the locals had approached the base commander complaining about the noise from the airplanes flying overhead.
The story went that he told them that there would be aircraft overhead, no matter what... the only difference would be whether they had white stars or red stars painted on them.
I don't know how the rest of the conversation went, but the AFB is still there.

Oh Please. I used to live and fish in Kona. The flight path is over the ocean to the north and south. The Airport is out on a Peninsula and the planes come in and out from the Ocean.
