Unfortunately, there is no law of nature I’m aware of that would prevent criminals from having conservative politics. Or people with conservative politics from committing horrible crimes.
When we try to claim these people absolutely could not be members of an anti-immigration group, we fall into a trap. If evidence is presented that unquestionably proves they were members, then we are stuck with them.
Why can’t we just agree anybody who does such things, whether they agree with us politically or not, are the scum of the earth and should be executed as soon as possible? If they need somebody to push the button on the killer of this little girl, I’m available.
It’s their actions that are relevant, not their politics.
I absolutely agree with those observations - unfortunatatley there are many on here that seem to be confused between politics and religion and tend to treat former as if it were the latter.
'We' are stuck with nobody. We are stuck with what we do. Not something someone else did.
That is the difference between collective verses the individual.
If some famous left wing extremist's child or the blood relative of some Hollywood miscreant did something terrible, do you seriously think that they would own it?
They would blame BUSH/PALIN/LIMBAUGH/BECK/NRA/ and anyone else for fermenting a climate of hostility which culminated in the horrific acts committed by the ones who are really responsible but it is still the fault of BUSH/PALIN/LIMBAUGH/BECK/NRA/!!!
In short we own what we do. It is what we do that defines who we are, not what we say.
