yay, clerk!
“But he was just beginning to turn his life around...”
Recipient of lead was a female, but, yes....I’m sure she was just beginning to turn her life around.
...And, she was such a NICE girl!
And Amish, no doubt.
How come the other three are having murder charges pressed in connection with the death of the girl who was part of the robber’s gang? I don’t understand this..
Basically, 4 of them went into the store to rob it. The clerk shot back and killed one. the other 3 are being charged with the murder because they were committing a felony armed robbery causing the death of an individual. Doesn't matter if the individual was another thug or not, same charges.
It's called the "felony murder rule" and basically, it makes any participant in a felony criminally liable for any deaths that occur during or in furtherance of that felony. In short, this girl would still be alive if her and her friends weren't out robbing liquor stores. Her friends bear the responsibility for her death.
Some law about accomplices in a crime where a death happens. They’re all guilty. I think(?) Texas executed the driver of a getaway car in a robbery that resulted in a homicide.
Prayers up for the clerk.
It's called "felony murder," and a lot states have it.
If you commit a crime and someone, anyone dies as a result of that crime, you are guilty of murder.
Seems fair to me.
Indy is getting to be more like Detroit every day. The Indy Mayor and police/sheriff departments are trying to hold it down since the Super Bowl is scheduled for 2012. They got their work cut out for them.
Probably just coming full circle. I lived there in 1968 and it was a hellhole then. To say nothing of the crime rate, I remember everyone burned their garbage in the back yard, and our school didn’t have a name, only a number (#86).
Ah, I see. Thanks for the explanation guys...
