Obama Administration Lifts US Ban on Muslim Brotherhood Leader

01/22/10 | IsraelNationalNews.com | by Avi Yellin

The Barack Obama administration has decided to lift a ban preventing Muslim Scholar Professor Tariq Ramadan from entering the United States. Ramadan, an Egyptian currently living in Switzerland, is a leading member of Europe’s Muslim Brotherhood branch and the grandson of the movement’s founder Hassan al-Banna. The Muslim Brotherhood is the parent organization for Hamas and some of the groups that recently merged into al-Qaeda, including Ayman al Zawahiri’s Egyptian Islamic Jihad.
Ramadan was invited to teach at the University of Notre Dame in 2004 but the George W. Bush administration revoked his visa, citing a statute that applies to those who have “endorsed or espoused” terrorism. The administration later dropped the terror endorsement claim and linked the ban to $1,336 in donations Ramadan made between 1998 and 2002 to a Swiss charity that was later blacklisted by the US.

Although the White House asked the court last March to uphold the Bush-era entry ban on Ramadan, the administration has now decided to lift the ban and possibly allow both Ramadan and South African Muslim activist Professor Adam Habib onto American soil. State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters that the government no longer views Ramadan or Habib as representing threats to the United States. “The next time Professor Ramadan or Professor Habib apply for a visa, they will not be found inadmissible on the basis of the facts that led to denial when they last applied.”

We're secretly behind everything and everyone...both for Mubarak and for the protesters.

One little “pro-democracy dissident”, supported and encouraged by this Administration stands as NOTHING against
the jockeying for domination of the Muslim Brotherhood.
If there was ANY involvement by our Government in fomenting
or aiding the project of overthrowing Mubarak, it’s coming from a place of extreme naivete, and , whatever the outcome, it leaves America with blood on its hands.
EVery Coptic Christian “in diaspora” I’ve talked to or heard on TV wants Mubarak to STAY, regardless of the carnage
that’s already occurred ON HIS BEHALF.
They sense that the chaos itself affords a prime opportunity for the Muslim Brotherhood to come in, ally themselves with the protestors, and encourage the overthrow of Mubarak, which they have ALREADY DONE OFFICIALLY as of this morning. The MB is trying to ‘brand’ itself AND the street protestors as all part of the same objective, namely, to get rid of Mubarak, and move forward into a newly reconstituted Egypt with the MB playing a major role in determining Egypt’s course for the future.
If they are successful, and if America’s role supporting the overthrow of Mubarak for the sake of some future “democracy”, then this could be a far bigger failure
for this Administration than even Carter’s with Iran.
And isn’t it funny that NO ONE has mentioned Iran, whose pro-Democracy protests years ago were a harbinger of what is going on in Egypt , Tunis, etc. right now.......
We all expected the Iranian protests to quickly gain momentum, and topple Ahmadinejad, and it didn’t happen.
NOW we see the first signs of what seems to be “the same thing” happening elsewhere, with nothing catching fire belatedly in Iran.
This is my point: the next big thing will be Iran, all over again.
