CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- A Chattanooga man says he pulled his own weapon on armed robbers.
He was unloading his car from a trip, Monday night, on Williams Street, when two black men approached him.
The first suspect walked past him but turned back and put a gun to the victim demanding his keys. A second victim approached him and said something, then punched the victim in the face.
The victim said after being hit, he stumbled back and dropped his keys, then pulled out his own gun. As he did so, the first suspect grabbed the keys, walked into the street and fired. The suspects says he returned the fire and retreated into his home.
Once inside the victim called police. Officers were not able to locate the suspects.
The suspects were seen by witnesses getting into a white Toyota. The first suspect is described at 5'10", 150 pounds, wearing a red jacket and toboggan. He had a light complexion, curly hair and was armed with a hand gun. The second suspect was 5'6". about 130 pounds.
If you have any information about these suspects, you are asked to call Chattanooga Police.
Poorly written to say the least...
>He was unloading his car from a trip, Monday night, on Williams Street, when two black men approached him. <
Surprised that they used “2 black men” instead of the pc lib “2 suspects”.
The more times crime victims produce guns, the fewer crime victims there will be.
...along with a good description of the car...
Toboggans are the latest fashion statement in Tennessee? How, exactly, does one wear one? Wouldn’t it impede mobility a bit?
“Poorly written to say the least...”
What is the _one thing_ that you immediately notice in this report, vis-a-vis the essential information (regarding the perp) that is so often _omitted_ from most mass-media reporting of criminal behavior?
Kudos to the report/reporter/tv station for having the gaul to include this vital information!
Yup. Pics tell the story, don’t they? Reminds me of the time I spent with a Filipino colleague at a jazz bar on black-dominated Crenshaw Blvd here in L.A...let’s just say my eyes were opened about reality.
Yeah the second i read it wow they used the “2 black men”.
I am sure the ACLU will be contacting them about the racist article..
Of course. (sigh) Remember when the Muslim brats were torching every French car they see and the MSM reported them as “YOUTHS riot”?
“A second victim approached him...”
Really? Didn’t the writer mean “a second suspect”?
LOL, that’s what we call knit hats and those full face knit hats here. A friend of mine in Wisconsin laughs every time she hears me call a knit hat a toboggan. :-)
I’m not sure the writer has a clue what s/he really meant.
Yep. There seems to be an epidemic of that today.
The first suspect is described at 5'10", 150 pounds, wearing a red jacket and toboggan.
Might be a bit difficult wearing that sled around, but he should be easy to spot.
WRBC ain't CNN.
I used to have that Chattanooga station as part of my DirectTV local package before I was switched over to the Atlanta stations as my locals. That wasn't done by my request, Direct just did it arbitrarily. I didn't even know my local package was being changed until a DirectTV installation guy showed up one day with a 2nd dish and told me what he was there to do.
If any of you want hard left PC local news reporting the Atlanta stations are right up your alley. The talking heads down there wouldn't mention a perp's race or skin color if he was a green Martian with orange polkadots.
With that getup, the perp can only move quickly downhill.
I got the red jacket, but the toboggan?
They still to this day refer to them as YOOTHS and that stuff is still going on weekly in France the media has just moved on from reporting it..
Here in most of the northeast, the headline would have to read MAN ARRESTED FOR FRIGHTENING CARJACKERS.
lol...that’s for sure. A toboggan would be difficult to conceal.
What really struck me though was: “The victim said after being hit, he stumbled back and dropped his keys, then pulled out his own gun. As he did so, the first suspect grabbed the keys, walked into the street and fired.”
I wonder what caliber those ‘keys’ were.
Toboggan is a Southern expression. It’s what they call winter hats. As they say in the south - always wear your toboggan when you go snow skiing. Snow skiing! LOL
Figured as much. Just had to tweak y’all.
