The woman who authorities say killed her teenage daughter and son because she was fed up with them talking back and being mouthy will not appear in court Saturday because she's being treated at a hospital for an unknown condition.
Authorities say Julie Powers Schenecker was taken to Tampa General Hospital shortly after midnight Saturday to be treated for a medical condition that existed before she was taken to jail. Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies — who oversee jail inmates — said they could not reveal Schenecker's medical condition, citing health care privacy laws.
An arrest affidavit said Schenecker shot her son twice in the head in the family car "for talking back" as she drove him to soccer practice. The report said Schenecker then drove to their upscale home and shot her daughter in the face inside the home.
Schenecker's mother called police Friday morning and told them she was concerned after her daughter had sent an e-mail saying she was depressed. Officers found Schenecker drenched in blood on her back porch — and after they saw the teens, the scene was so troubling that a stress team was called to counsel the responding officers, a police spokeswoman said.
Calyx, the girl, was 16 and a cross-country running star at her high school. The 13-year-old son, Beau, was in eighth grade.

Schenecker's husband, Parker Schenecker, is a career Army officer attached to U.S. Central Command in Tampa. He was working in the Middle East when the shootings happened.

Just when you thought you’ve heard it all something like this comes along that leaves you without words....
I can’t imagine this teenage girl being a problem. It takes hard work, dedication, and discipline to be a runner. Most girls that I know that compete in track are not mouthy. It’s usually lazy kids or kids who have loud MOUTHY PARENTS that are mouthy.
What a tragedy.
God have mercy on this family. What suffering she has set into motion.

If it were up to me she would be tried and executed within one weeks time. I have no interest in knowing about her mental derangement and motivations. But it won’t happen that way. Millions of dollars will be blown trying her and bringing in expert witnesses. She has just ensured steady paychecks for a lot of people in our justice establishment
Yes, the liberal ladies on 'The View' and 'Oprah' will be grimly nodding their heads in "understanding", like they did with that mother who drowned her kids in the bathtub a few years back, and wondering who let this poor woman down; who let her get so depressed she would do such a terrible thing...
And anyway, it's Bush's fault for sending the husband off to the Middle East and leaving the poor woman all by herself to deal with not one but TWO mouthy teenagers.

I suspect that this was never a well balanced household, lots of screaming and little real communication.
She will pull off an insanity plea and the gun grabbers will love her.
Our 6YO was seriously acting yesterday when we were eating lunch at a local restaurant and I raised my voice for the first time at her in public. I still feel guilty about it.
Then we got home and read this story soon after.
I’m not sure there is anything my kids could do that would put me in a place where something like what this person did seems possible.
It’s a sick world, and the more our fellow man moves away from God and worships themselves instead, the more we’ll see incidents like this. God help us.

When it comes to setting the guilty free and persecuting the innocent, never underestimate the lawyers and court system.
Very rarely do you have problems while taking the drugs, but miss doses or try to wean yourself off is they the problems start. It could take months to get off of those drugs and it needs to be done under a Doctors care.
