No Palin, no vote. Period. And I'm not alone. Screw the GOP!

It'd be interesting to see what would happen if we ended up with a DeMint/Cain ticket, or something like that.

Are you really going to help re-elected 0bama, just because your particular political messiah didn't get the nomination?

Why are you being a tool for a skewed poll?

I'm not. I'm responding to a foolish sentiment that has been repeatedly expressed by some people here on FR.

Why are you trying to be purposefully insulting? Are you just the sort of person who likes to try to stir up strife and division?

and where have these “fine” conservatives been for the last 2 years as Obmaa and the socialists have had a free hand in making policy and destroying our country. Only gov Palin has been on the attack defending conservative vaules everyday. She stands up and takes the stones thrown at her by the MSM and the DNC everyday for the last 2 years. these fine conservatives you talk about have been in hdiing since Obama won. gutless wonders no thank you. If West had some more experience I would include him.

I want a fighter not a coward. So far the only fighter on the field is gov Palin.

“I’m damned sure NOT going to vote for another John McCain!
This is engraved in stone, they can take it to the bank!

It doesn’t absolutely need to be Sarah but if the nominee isn’t reasonably conservative no way will I vote for them.”

I second that... my not reasonable conservative lists for starters are
Daniels
Romney
huckleberry
Pawlenty ( only looks conservative cause he is from a communist state)
Anybody from New York or the whole northeast for that matter
anybody named Bush
Anybody the Rove likes

feel free to add

How is the Republican party supposed to "show support for her" in your estimation?

How about speaking out in her defense when the MSM decided to butcher her and blame her for the murders in Tucson? They can do that without endorsing her. The silence from Republican "leaders" was deafening. They only decided to speak out after she defended herself, and then their comments all centered around the idea that she should shut up. How "manly" of them.

My family will go for a third party Conservative candidate (hopefully Sarah!) before voting for a Republican establishment pick like Romney, McCain, Gingrich, or a host of others. We would rather see another term of Obama hamstrung by a conservative congress and senate than another globalist, anti-constitution president like any of the Bushes.

Yes, Ross Perot is a product of the GOP Establishment abandoning Reagans model that brought 3 landslide elections

Maybe the GOP will be the 3rd party?

I think there are a lot more than you think and more join us everyday as the left exposes themselves. If Sarah Palin is treated fairly she will win in a landslide. It is not likely that she will be treated fairly and her victory will be hard won, but she will prevail. She better. She is us.

I’ve held my nose while voting, but I won’t ever do that again. While I’m a strong Palin supporter, I’ll vote GOP if a Reagan conservative is nominated. Otherwise, I’ll see what the third parties have to offer. If I don’t find any of their candidates acceptable, I’ll write in Sarah Palin’s name.

Hey, I’m in NC.

Some say NC went for Obama in the last election. WRONG. Obama won NC by less than 25,000 votes. Just over 25,0000 NC voters voted for Barr. So the Barr voters gave NC to Obama.

"When her name is brought up to any of the so called “ins” of the GOP....

The "ins"? Please, let me know where I can find these "ins"? On what page of the Party's incorporation documents might they be found?

You do understand that the Republican Party is a corporation, right. It's not some nebulous collection of "ins", who meet in shady back-rooms to hand pick the party's next nominee. Both major parties stopped operating that way at the turn of the last century. Now, they're very public corporations, with public officers, public and wholly transparent financials, and public platforms. The Parties don't endorse national primary candidates, and haven't for over 100-years.

Your mysterious (and entertaining) "ins" have no bearing on the operation of the Republican Party. If you can find a name of an actual party officer who has publicly disparaged Palin, or any other candidate, then by all means, let's hear it.

“It’s rapidly approaching the time when if you don’t stand up for your principles, all will be lost.
If someone else throws his/her hat in the ring that shows the same depth of character and commitment to principle then, yeah, I’ll happily vote for them.
Until then, I am behind Sarah.”

Well stated. I’m also behind Sarah...but if DeMint throws his hat into the ring, I’m with him. He’s been AWESOME lately.

I have read a number of academic studies by political scientists over the years, and all the ones that I can remember reached that very conclusion - absent Perot, it's likely Bush gets reelected, although it would have been very close.

Sweet, it's nice to see my analysis backed up by people who (presumably) actually know what they're talking about!

'96 is a slightly different case. Clinton probably prevails, but it would have been a much closer election, and certainly not the electoral blow-out it was.

Yes, that's pretty much the conclusion I reached, too. Of course, if Bush I had won in 1992, there would probably not have been a Clinton rerun in 1996, but you never know.

IMO, the acceptable candidates at this point are Palin, DeMint, Pence(says he’s not running) and Bachmann.
Unacceptable: Romney, Huckabee
Bland brand x might be acceptable as a last resort: Pawlenty

That's why they take this "Palin or nobody" mentality. they won't even consider other conservative alternatives - even ones who are MORE conservative than her, and who have done MORE to actually promote conservatism on a practical, functional level than she has.

That mentality scares me. Palin appeals to me because she promotes conservative values. We should embrace any genuinely conservative candidate.

For me though, there definitely is a lower bound in a candidate that, if crossed, will make such a candidate unvotable for me.
