Hey, Chris Matthews: I Like Big Guns and I Cannot Lie
Townhall.com ^ | January 31, 2011 | Doug Giles

Posted on 01/31/2011 4:44:17 AM PST by Kaslin

Chris Matthews told his two brothers, Larry Fine and Curly Howard—I mean Larry O’Donnell and Ed Schultz—on air last Tuesday night that BHO is queuing up with a special ‘Presidential Address’ in which he’s going to talk to us bitter, clingy patriots about “gun control.”

When I heard Chris say that, I immediately opened up another tab on my Mac and logged onto MidwayUSA.com and bought an additional case of ammo for every caliber and gauge that I own. Y’know, just in case there’s any validity to Matthews’ inside dope on the Hope & Change menu. Oh, in addition to more ammo, I also bought another gun … another elephant gun, to be exact.

Yep, Chris quipped last week that Barack has a special speech drafted in the wake of the Tucson mass murders that targets our firearms. Never let a good crisis go to waste, right Rahm? Can you say “target” anymore? It’s so hard keeping up with what we can and cannot say, do and not do, eat and not eat. These control freaks are acting like the Taliban.

Anyway, according to Chris, Obama didn’t want to table that topic during the State of the Union because that subject would have jolted everyone from the Stage 4 coma his speech plunged them into and would’ve alerted them to the not-so-subtle subtext in BHO’s discourse regarding the manifold ways he’s destroyed our economy and how he intends to screw us in the future. It’s best to let sleeping dawgs lie, right? Right.

Back to the validity of Matthews’ claims regarding a pending presidential diatribe concerning our right to lock-n-load: Did Matthews get the inside poop regarding a bad anti-gun move by Barack? I doubt it. Nobody tells MSNBC squat; they learn about news after Fox or Breitbart break it.

Indeed, why would Obama’s admin tell Chris diddly about what they’re going to do? What’s that, you say? It’s because of Matthews’ nonexistent audience and thus the certainty that his secret is safe with him and MSNBC? Okay, I’ll grant you that one. Given that one fact, MSNBC is not known for breaking any news. Propaganda, yes. Misinformation? Well of course. Remember ACORN?

Hey, speaking of ACORN, it appears as if these “friends of the poor” are back in business to help throw 2012 for BHO like they did in ‘08. Of course they’re flying under a different name like Project Vote or Operation Horse Crap or something, but they’re still around and ready to help steal an election.

And while we’re on the subject of stealing elections, Amy Busefink, that ACORN chick in Nevada who was found guilty for her part in 400,000 bogus ballots, just got a slap on the wrist for trying to rape our democratic process. Maybe Project Vote or Obama’s former ACORN boy, Patrick Gaspard, who is slated to chair the DNC for 2012, could help Miss Amy to work off some of her community service during the next election? How quaint. What a coincidence. But I digress.

Personally, I believe that after the debt BHO’s strangled us with, the future he has f-f-f-fouled up for our kids, and the overreach his government has had into the private sector that it would be plain silly and stupid for BHO to go there with our guns if … if … he wants to be re-elected, which I believe that he does. Thus I believe Matthews is full of swill.

That said, I would still like to remind my tens of thousands of readers of the bad, bad news that follows when governments enact a citizen gun grab. Check it out …

1. In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

2. In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

3. Germany established gun control in 1938, and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

4. China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

5. Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

6. Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

7. Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

8. Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

As the old adage goes: “With guns, we are citizens. Without them, we are subjects.”

The rumor of an anti-gun speech has been around for a while, perhaps it is coming, but I don’t see much chance of getting a new gun law throught this Congress.

Then again, I have little faith in the law makers of this country any more.

Like Mubarak our government isn’t listening.

It’s already on record that community-activist Obama once said, “Ordinary people shouldn’t have guns”.

But Doug is right - no such thing as too much ammo.

Knowing that such legislation would never make it out of the House, I actually hope he goes into full gun-grabbing mode.

It would seal the deal for him being a one-termer.

Let President Zero make his speech. In fact, let him make it one of his major planks in his 2012 platform. Go, Zero, go I say! If he and his willing idiots should do this it will merely peel off more of those who would otherwise vote for him. For example, gun owning union members, hunters and gun sportsmen in purple states. And, others such as those who are constitutionalists. I think it's great, make your speech(s) Zero, rock’n roll!

Darn, one thing I don’t have. Was hoping for a 458 or 416 for Christmas but my wife did not come through this year! On the other hand, my shoulder still smarts after a few boxes of 300 win mags this weekend, maybe she knew better!

Was hoping for a 458 or 416 ...

That .416 Rigby or W'by Mag?

I happened to attend a smallish gun show yesterday in SE Texas. It was crawling with people and they were buying. Did a little "loophole" buy myself. Lots of people crowding the pistol tables.

Hey, Chris Matthews:

1) Shouldn’t gays have a right to protect themselves from bitter clingers promoting violence with their anti-homosexual rhetoric???

2) Shouldn’t people of color be allowed to defend themselves with a good semi-automatic from hordes of racist rednecks who like a crackhead, can always find a gun and wish to created another Jasper, Texas like dragging???

3) Shouldn’t women be allowed to exercise their reproductive rights with a good 18 round clip in their gun from the Christian Taliban influenced by hate speech from Sara Palin???

Well, to paraphrase Phill Graham, then senator from Texas, making a speech at an NRA convention; he stated “I have all the guns I need but I don’t have all the guns I want!” That sums up my thoughts on the subject. But, sadly, my wife has informed me that “not only do I have all the guns I need, I have all the guns I’m gonna get” LOL! She’s actually a shooter as well. But, she does keep a beady eye on the inventory in my gun safe....

The author of the piece should not have implied that Chris Matthews was Moe Howard. Moe was the leader and smartest stooge. Curly or Shemp are more the tingle up the leg type.

Rigby.

Pistols are hot sales right now, especially anything that takes a high capacity mag from what I gather. I am just stocking up on useful arms and ammo now involving light game hunting for the coming collapse. I tell my wife I need an elephant gun just in case an elephant, lion, or Rhino gets away from the zoo 40 miles away and finds itself heading toward our front door (fat chance but it is my story and I am sticking to it)

As the old adage goes: “With guns, we are citizens. Without them, we are subjects.”

As far as Matthews and the other gun controllers are concerned, the public being disarmed and helpless under tyranny is a feature, not a bug. Such people truly have the elitist contempt for the people, the “Marie Antoinette syndrome”.

They even fantasize about a “cull” of the “hoi polloi”, as it would make their elitist job of ruling over “the masses” easier.

Just as a reference as to what can happen during unrest:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1351826/Egypt-protests-U-S-advises-Americans-leave-30-000-Brits-stranded.html

More than 102 dead and thousands of prisoners on the loose in Egypt as 30,000 stranded Britons struggle to leave the country

“Last night a handful Brits that managed to board flights returning back from Cairo described their relief at escaping the riot-torn country.”

“They told how vigilantes were protecting neighbourhoods at night after police withdrew from the streets.”

In times of unrest, at minimum guns can serve to protect the innocent when the police are absent.

Now, why do the Leftists thinks it’s a good idea to take them away?

Just remember that in ancient Saxon culture, the carrying of a weapon meant you were a free man, without it you were considered a slave.

The weapon at the time was a single edged knife called a Seax – which is where the name Saxon came from.

Just as the Left doesn’t really believe in freedom of speech, they don’t really believe you should have the right to defend yourself – either from criminals or the government.

They look on most of us as soon to be disarmed slaves to be used and discarded as they see fit.

Lord knows, I have more guns than I'll ever use. When the Repub crooks are in, I buy guitars; when the Dem Filth come to power, it's back to guns & ammo; been that way as the pendulum swings my entire life.

I figure probably many more Americans also think just like I do and are doing much the same. Big "O" got me into reloading, which is a good thing. I spent over 7-8 thou on supplies & equipment last year; seriously; but I have the peace of mind in knowing my grandkids will be shooting caribou & moose those 215's long after I'm dead & gone off this earth. Now if I only had all the time it takes to reload ammo.

I guess I should maybe thank that fool in D.C.; now I'm buying Nightforce & Acogs over Leupolds and hunting with them too. Killed caribou long range with 6.8 SPC & Acog with ghost ring/BDC markers; dang I feel confident nowadays. I'd probably never even thought about illumination had it not been for Obama getting in; now I wouldn't go moose hunting without red reticles. Bought my first preban back in late 80's, have several 223's, but now into all the new AR platform calibers, luv hunting off snowmachine & atv with the shortie carbines and I have to thank Big "O" himself; hadn't been for him, never would have been spending money on such things.

At least I can find solace in the fact that there are alot more Americans just like me out there too.

For Christmas I received a Remington 870 Express shotgun and a brand new Berretta. Guess where these new guns of mine are stored? In my husband's gun safe!!!

I picked up a very nice mini 14 several years ago and this rifle introduced me to the .223.

Much easier on the nerves than the big bangers.

Yep. But curiously, this “rumor” has appeared in only neo-Marxist venues like MSNBC, Newsweek/DailyBeast and Time.

Personally, I think it’s all just wishful thinking by the gun controllers and their Marxist media friends who must think they can gain some traction on this issue by pushing it in the Marxist media.

Gun control is a major loser for the DimRats and no new gun control is going to pass the House anyway, so all they’ll do is expose themselves as the gun controllers they really are, and yet not manage to pass any actual legislation.

Should we have gun control for liberals?

Too funny! LOL! Actually, I did something similar for/to my wife. When we were dating, knowing that I was a hunter, she casually stated sorta off-hand, when finding out that I was going on a deer hunt, that she might like to go deer hunting sometime. So, I’m thinking, this is the gal for me and popped the question to which she said yes. Well, shortly after our getting married I decided to be a nice guy and buy her a nice deer gun - a Remington BLR .243 with a Leupold Gold Ring scope. Other than the one time I took it along on a hunt it has been taking up space in MY gun safe for oh, about 25 years. But, not all is lost, I have a nine year old grandson which I think this would make a nice starter gun for him. Do you think I was tricked? LOL! Btw, we are still very happily married.
