Nice Habitat for a small bit of Humanity. Carter says he would be willing for the "arrangements" to change. Hmmmm.

Clearly if they didn’t regularly remove the cobwebs from the woods, the roof would collapse, and then where would they be?

I certainly hope that none of the spiders in question are on the endangered species list.

Ronald Reagan didn’t get that kind of deal for his ranch - which is too bad, as a lot of historical documents were signed there, I understand.

I wouldn’t begrudge a penny of it if only he would just shut up.

Under an arrangement with the National Park Service, taxpayers are responsible for the exterior of Mr. Carter‘s home in Plains, Ga. - to the tune of $67,841 last year alone.

I'll do it for $55,000 - including supplies. Consider yourself underbid, NPS.

The Kennedy’s Hyannis “compound” is slated to be a NAtional Historic Site”, and gets free maintenance as well as no tax burden to the family.

Lots of ways to make money in FedGov,probably why there are so many multimillionaires there.

Which one? The one he never goes to? In Chicago? Or the invisible one?

The NPS did the same thing for MLK’s family and home. Not only did NPS do the grounds and upkeep on the house, the Department of the Interior paid the King family a tidy stipend yearly. This was the dirty little secret of the NPS for years. The Kings didn’t want the NPS employees assigned to the house and yard to wear the uniforms because they were offended by the uniforms. A former NPS employee was assigned there for a year and the whole time he hated the duty because of the attitude of the King family.

I remember driving by his home in 1983. There were big signs along the road warning drivers to keep moving or risk being subject to deadly force.

It’s time for Roselyn to pick up her dust rag and swifter. To think we have to pay for the upkeep of these two old fools, makes me sick!

About eight years ago, my then-girlfriend and I were visiting Andersonville Natl Historic Site. For the hell of it, we decided to drive to Plains and see the Jimmy Carter NHS..

All in all, it was interesting. It looks like not a whole hell of a lot has happened there since Carter ran back in ‘76. We sat out on a bench outside the general store and drank a bottle of pop. A nice lazy summer day.

We drove my Carter’s residence and looked around. But with the trees and the privacy hedges, there really was not a whole lot to see.

It is still a better deal than “restoring” Clinton’s boyhood home. I read that they spent $900,000 restoring a house that was only worth about $60k.
