To a true Muslim, the only history which matters is Mohammad and the spread of his sickness.

No doubt they would not hesitate to use a nuke if it would advance their Islamic ideology.

These people will destroy the pyramids if they get half a chance.

If they do, we'll see whether the curse associated with disturbing the tombs has any truth to it...

Few serious scholars accept the myth of the Muslim destruction of the library - it is almost universally accepted that the library was destroyed in about 48 BC as an unintended consequence of Julius Caesar torching the Egyptian fleet.

The Taliban destruction of the twin Buddhas, on the other hand, is a documented, verifiable fact - and I think more relevant to the muslim (lack of) respect for ancient culture.

“What is being filtered out?”

They show only what the msm considers the “highlights” and what they think you should see and fits the script. Al Jazeera coverage is completely unscripted, extemporaneous.

That may have been in Philadelphia because the one in DC was desecrated.

It was 4 years ago, a friend just reminded me that the effort was spearheaded by the John Birch Society. I am sure the memorial was desecrated many times since, unfortunately.

No doubt.

And what they did to the giant Buddhas will be repeated in Egypt if the Muslim Brotherhood takes over.

Mubarak;s mistake in dealing with them is he should have killed them all.

Dictators never fall because they are too brutal and sly. They fall because they are too weak, and stupid.

That’s what I think. Mubarak must not step down until a clear, legal succession is settled. They can’t afford a vacuum. I just hope the military sees that they may need to take back their commitment to not hurt the protestors.

"fighting for democracy"

LOL, thanks I need a laugh... Let me fix that for you.

"fighting for fundamentalist Islam"

Do a little reading about the Pew Research poll of Eqyptians. 82% hate the USA, 59% refuse to believe Muslims attacked the World Trade Center, and a majority support a fundamentalist Islam government.

This is a civil insurrection to replace a dictator with Islamic government. Not about Democracy.

I know so little about what life is like living under Mubarek, but sometimes you have to hope for the lesser of 2 evils (Radical Islam being the more evil.)

If he survives this, I hope he’ll really crack down on the jihadis in his country.

If the museum has been fire-bombed, that change of strategy could come sooner than later.

Frankly, I don’t think any government has an obligation to allow it’s citizen to destroy infrastructure in the interest of regime change.

It wouldn’t be tolerated here for ten minutes, unless it was to advance Leftist goals.

good point.

The media we have to understand is to help their messiah obama and to cover for him regardless of what he says and does.

Lets look at this.
Iran has riots and obama does and says nothing as the media and obama says we should not get involved with other countries.

Today Egypt our good ally unlike Iran has riots and now obama is calling for a transition, to have Mubarack step down etc.

Now I have to ask why did obama really go over there two years ago and who did he really talk to?

Ws this all planned because right now it has all the scent of the loon marxists , Soros, and the likes of Ayers working with the MB.

Now why does the white house not denounce a group named MB and who has terrorist ties?

American Jews for the most part would be going mad if Bush did this but because their messiah does it then it;s alright

Now we have the biased corrupt so called media who keeps saying that these pro Govt protesters are dong all the trouble, attacking folks and are paid off.

Has it been a thought to them that maybe many do not want to see their country go like Iran.
The bias this week has been amazing even for our so called media but now our policy has changed to helping radical islam spread while pissing on our allies.

hell even the GOP stay silent the cowards.

Interesting. After the 0-boy pranced around the globe apologizing to muzzieworld for American “arrogance,” bowing to the Saudi king, alienating Israel, recognizing the muslim brotherhood, praising the “greatness of islam,” turning his back on the Iranian resistance movement and giving the Taliban a heads-up on the date-certain of our withdrawal from Afghanistan...

...a 17% favorability rating in Egypt is all he has to show for it.

This is further proof muslims don’t respect niceties... they deride “open hands,” and they disrespect “outreach.” What grabs their hearts and minds is force... brutal, punishing force. When they know you have the means and the will to pound them to dust, then and only then do they respect you.

The West repeats ad nauseum the failed practice of trying to view islam through a modern prism. Muslims’ mindset is mired in pre-10th century thinking. Like any untamed animal, they are far too primitive to understand or appreciate any approach other than: “I can crush you. Obey.”

Because, when they gain the upper hand, that is EXACTLY the tact they use... every time.
