I guess all that royal inbreeding has really made the royals even stupider than I thought!
The royal family don’t decide who gets these awards (there are a handful of Honours still directly decided by the Queen, but they are a very small minority and this award certainly isn’t one of them - it’s not even a formal Honour). The Butler Trust awards are actually decided on by two judging panels, neither of which involves any member of the royal family.
