The federal judge who struck down the Obama administration's moratorium on deepwater drilling after the Gulf oil spill held the Interior Department in contempt Wednesday, and ordered the federal agency to pay attorneys' fees for several offshore oil companies.
"Such dismissive conduct, viewed in tandem with the reimposition of a second blanket and substantively identical moratorium and in light of the national importance of this case, provide this court with clear and convincing evidence of the government's contempt of this court's preliminary injunction order," he wrote.

Inching ever closer to a constitutional crisis.
Egypt, Egypt, Egypt..........
When the libs lose the judges, they have REALLY overstepped the boundaries.
Get judges to legislate from the bench — that feeds to their egos. Flip them off by blatantly ignoring their rulings — that attacks their egos.
This Nazi regime doesn’t care about the courts unless the courts agree with them.
YAY! People with balls STANDING UP! Gotta Love it!
Usually when someone is found in contempt of court they’re put in prison for a little while.
Perhaps the Secretary of the Interior — Ken Salazar — should be jailed?
Cue the Hitler in his Bunker video.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
This could become very interesting. Even more interesting than some 20 year old twit giving out Oval Office BJs.
TGO was hot on Obama’s disregard for the rule of law...this all is going to come to a big crisis IMO ....the Vinson ruling essentially means that Obamacare is illegal and should stop in its entirety now.
Can I be the first to say that i am developing a man-crush on Judge Visnon?
Cool!! A string of judicial losses for 0-boy and Co.
There should be consequences for violating the oath of office, which is to uphold and defend the Constitution.
Trying to pass unconstitutional legislation should be criminalized, and violators imprisoned and fined.
The reason the CPUSA is out of control is because the Washingtonians are scared of the McCarthy tag.
Time for McCarthyism on steroids, and lets not spare the propagandists in New York.
I believe Salazar is lucky judge Feldman didn’t throw him in jail for contempt for ignoring his original ruling, he should still jail him.
Now for the Congress to ‘get some’ and strike down ‘bummers traitorous shut down of our space program.
The Space Program is LEGALLY under the auspices of CONGRESS - not the WH. ‘bummer had NO right to usurp Congress.
‘bummer's attack on the Space Program is putting up to 100,000 people out of work.
We need to email our reps and demand they rescind ‘bummer's illegal actions against our Space Program - and remind them it would be a great jobs-move AND help the disastrous housing in Florida which is going to cause many thousands to lose their homes, due to the extra blow from all but closing the Space Station.
These blows refuting 'bummer must be putting a burden on his handlers. Keeping a narcissist, who can't brook opposition, in line, is no easy task.
Let's hope! bttt
He’s fining the Commerce Department and they will pay the sanctions using our hard earned tax dollars. Like Obama cares if the Commerce Department has to pay some fines.
Instead they should throw a few of these punk policy wanks into the slammer.
Good news, no mention of this from MSM
Or in this case - Dept. of Interior must be closed until agree to comply.
I’m thinking the Obama admin is also in contempt of a Florida judge on the Obamacare ruling...and congress too.
This is funny - I thought I heard Rush say yesterday about Vinson’s ruling and Zero’s attempt for contempt and ‘What about the Oil Drilling Moratorium that Salazar is ignoring? What about that judge?’ and then WHAM!! today he says they’re in contempt... makes me wonder with glee if these guys listen to Rush!!!
I would hate to see the punishment ending in taxpayers paying for this illegal act. Can we take Salazar and his crew and send them to GITMO or maybe one of our “famous” prisons?
Right, 0bama and crew could care less about wasting tax dollars paying fines. I wish the judge would have thrown Salazar in the clink and done it when Salazar wrote the second moratorium days after the first ruling.
“Inching ever closer to a constitutional crisis.”
I agree. Time to move the 2nd Marine Marine Division north on I-95.
“Drill, Stupid, Drill”
Yeah, that'll hit 'em right where it hurts...right on their earnings. Watch the "federal agency" share price sink on this ruling! /sarc
Great, malfeasance, and probably unlawful behavior, by a federal agency results in the equivalent of a fine -- paid with OUR tax dollars! Instead, the judge should send a bunch of the bastards to Sing Sing for a long, long time.
Check this Contemp ruling out...
The federal judge who struck down the Obama administration’s moratorium on deepwater drilling after the Gulf oil spill held the Interior Department in contempt Wednesday, and ordered the federal agency to pay attorneys’ fees for several offshore oil companies.
For salazar, I think rendition is a better option. Most people I know look on the DoI as enemy combatants.
A little late, Judge, but thanks.....
Inching ever closer to impeachment?
Me likey. Sic ‘em, Judge.
How can we raise awareness of the damage being done to our energy industries? OPEC can't hold a candle to the treacherous bastards! If not the EPA, it's the Dept of Interior; if not them, Dept of Energy; if not them, the BLM, etc. At every turn energy exploration companies, developers and suppliers are getting thwarted or worse, shafted by the feral government. All the while bemoaning our dependence on foreign sources. WTH???
The federales can't possibly be this stupid, so one can only assume their actions are designed to kill domestic energy production. To what purpose? What do these home grown commies hope to accomplish by destroying several more major domestic industries? This is treason beyond description.
...........wake me up when it’s not one attorney (the judge) rewarding other attorneys (for the oil companies) BUT instead we see a revised contempt order that puts Marxist Holder’s behind in jail for 30 days! And, for REAL justice, Obama and him could be cell mates!
That’s what an administration does when it thinks like Chuck Schumer,” We have a House. We have a Senate. We have a President.”
Jail them all.
Yup, and this is an example of what Vinson should have done:
U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman yesterday granted a preliminary injunction, halting the moratorium. He also immediately prohibited the U.S. from enforcing the ban. Government lawyers told Feldman the ban was based on findings in a U.S. report following the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon rig off the Louisiana coast in April.
Do you understand the difference? Feldman granted a preliminary injunction. Vinson didn't.
That's a big difference. Violation of an injunction carries real penalties, including prison if the judge chooses.
Impeachment (in the House) might happen,
but 2/3rds vote for conviction in the Senate?
Vinson did state that an injunction wasn’t necessary,
as the law was now void,
and he had the expectation that the Executive would comply with the law.
Now, who’s gonna enforce this compliance?
Therein lies the problem. Vinson expects that the Obama administration would comply with the law. But, without the injunction, there's no way to enforce compliance.
So, they are free to ignore him, with no consequences. Maybe he'll impose an injunction, then. But, given the rules of jurisdiction, the administration can simply avoid doing anything in the northern district of Florida, and there won't be a plaintiff that can show injury by non-compliance.
