Judge Holds Interior Dept. in Contempt Over Ban (Gulf drilling moratorium)
AP / ABC ^ | 2/2/11 | MICHAEL KUNZELMAN

The federal judge who struck down the Obama administration's moratorium on deepwater drilling after the Gulf oil spill held the Interior Department in contempt Wednesday, and ordered the federal agency to pay attorneys' fees for several offshore oil companies.

"Such dismissive conduct, viewed in tandem with the reimposition of a second blanket and substantively identical moratorium and in light of the national importance of this case, provide this court with clear and convincing evidence of the government's contempt of this court's preliminary injunction order," he wrote.

There should be consequences for violating the oath of office, which is to uphold and defend the Constitution.

Trying to pass unconstitutional legislation should be criminalized, and violators imprisoned and fined.

The reason the CPUSA is out of control is because the Washingtonians are scared of the McCarthy tag.

Time for McCarthyism on steroids, and lets not spare the propagandists in New York.

I believe Salazar is lucky judge Feldman didn’t throw him in jail for contempt for ignoring his original ruling, he should still jail him.

Another slap down to the narcissist.

Now for the Congress to ‘get some’ and strike down ‘bummers traitorous shut down of our space program.

The Space Program is LEGALLY under the auspices of CONGRESS - not the WH. ‘bummer had NO right to usurp Congress.

‘bummer's attack on the Space Program is putting up to 100,000 people out of work.

We need to email our reps and demand they rescind ‘bummer's illegal actions against our Space Program - and remind them it would be a great jobs-move AND help the disastrous housing in Florida which is going to cause many thousands to lose their homes, due to the extra blow from all but closing the Space Station.

These blows refuting 'bummer must be putting a burden on his handlers. Keeping a narcissist, who can't brook opposition, in line, is no easy task.

He’s fining the Commerce Department and they will pay the sanctions using our hard earned tax dollars. Like Obama cares if the Commerce Department has to pay some fines.

Instead they should throw a few of these punk policy wanks into the slammer.

I’m thinking the Obama admin is also in contempt of a Florida judge on the Obamacare ruling...and congress too.

This is funny - I thought I heard Rush say yesterday about Vinson’s ruling and Zero’s attempt for contempt and ‘What about the Oil Drilling Moratorium that Salazar is ignoring? What about that judge?’ and then WHAM!! today he says they’re in contempt... makes me wonder with glee if these guys listen to Rush!!!

I would hate to see the punishment ending in taxpayers paying for this illegal act. Can we take Salazar and his crew and send them to GITMO or maybe one of our “famous” prisons?

Right, 0bama and crew could care less about wasting tax dollars paying fines. I wish the judge would have thrown Salazar in the clink and done it when Salazar wrote the second moratorium days after the first ruling.

I agree. Time to move the 2nd Marine Marine Division north on I-95.

...ordered the federal agency to pay attorneys' fees for several offshore oil companies.

Yeah, that'll hit 'em right where it hurts...right on their earnings. Watch the "federal agency" share price sink on this ruling! /sarc

Great, malfeasance, and probably unlawful behavior, by a federal agency results in the equivalent of a fine -- paid with OUR tax dollars! Instead, the judge should send a bunch of the bastards to Sing Sing for a long, long time.

For salazar, I think rendition is a better option. Most people I know look on the DoI as enemy combatants.
