Now pissant won’t be able to release his porno Palin dolls or whatever the PDS perverts come up with.

Not really, this protects the name only for political web services and motivational speaking services.

Doesn’t prevent use of the name as a trademark on clothing, or any other unrelated goods or services.

“Tacky. Somehow Ronald Reagan survived without trademarking his name.”

Different media today - including the internet.

I give her lots of credit for being preemptive.

Yes it is tacky. The country is in serious trouble. This stuff is not helpful if a person wants to be taken seriously.

Reagan was serious. This is not.

Bristol’s name is applied for to cover the field of “Educational and entertainment services, namely, providing motivational speaking services in the field of life choices.”

Agree 100%. I think we’re already to the point where she’s achieved cult status. Her fanbois will continue to adore her and prostrate themselves at her feet, but realistically, her support is going no further.

Ronald Reagan was in the 1980s.

This is some pretty crappy lawyering.

As I suspected, these are the only two trademark applications this particular lawyer has ever filed.

I’m disappointed ant any lawyer would embarrass himself and his client with this kind of junk.

You bring up a good point. It might keep SNL and other shows from mocking her in skits.

There surely is a law already in place to prevent her name being used on merchandise, etc.

Celebrities often trademark their names. Politicians seldom do so.

Enemies of The Government Party have to. They are under paid attack from every angle of the status quo and the evil lazy.

Today is a good day to die.
I didn't say for whom.

Demeaning supporters of Palin with terms such as you’ve just used only hurts you and your status on the forum.

That seems to be the general approach of Palin haters. Nothing substantive, simply calling Palin supporters worshippers or calling her a cult favorite.

She is a legitmate, genuine and extremely popular political figure who will probably get the nomination.

Why don’t you go pout somewhere else?

Campaigns buy every top-level domain variant of their candidate’s name that they possibly can, just to prevent somebody from putting up a hostile site on one of them. The cost of protecting their image. I’m open to hearing how this is somehow less reasonable than that. But the argument better be pretty damned good. “Eww, that’s tacky” is not a good argument.
