Egyptian authorities say an explosion has rocked a pipeline that carries gas to Israel.
Authorities do not know who is responsible for the blast. They say a large fire is raging near the site of the explosion in North Sinai.
Very little other information was immediately available about the Saturday blast.
I imagine somebody who trades currencies is making out pretty well during this crisis?

Israel gas supply not hit by Egypt pipe blast-radioJERUSALEM Jan 5 (Reuters) - A suspected sabotage attack on a gas facility in the Egyptian Sinai did not target supplies to Israel but they were halted as a precaution, Israel Radio said on Saturday. It quoted sources in the Israeli consortium overseeing gas imports as saying the morning blast was "nowhere near" the pipe running to Israel. Israel gets 40 percent of its natural gas from Egypt, a deal built on their landmark 1979 peace accord.
