The opponents of democracy, the opponents of justice and really the opponents of liberty, which Im going to get to. The opponents of those three valuesjustice, democracy and libertywhen you hit them they get mad. When they hit us, we get sad. Cause were decent people. Were kind people. Were compassionate people. And we sometimes can find ourselves shocked again and again by how hard the other side fights
We are in the middle of the biggest economic catastrophe in the history of our country since the great depression and the American people deserve to have a partner in Americas government during a crisis like this. Americas government should not be missing in action. We shouldnt be struggling to figure out if were going to re-up the unemployment benefits for people whove been out of work. Its time for us to go from talking about an unemployment program to an employment program in America. People need jobs. People need to be able to work. People need to be able to put food on the table.
Why is the government missing in action? Why are they having food fight politics in Washington DC as opposed to helping the American people put food on the table? Because our political process has been hijacked. Our political process has been hijacked by people who are only interested in their own game. Who are only interested in their own profit. And who are willing to tell any lie and spend any amount of money to prevent Americas government from coming to the rescue of the American people. And we are here to put a stop to that kind of treachery against our country.

Jones is just another angry, America-hating liberal ***hole.
Jones needs to be in prison with the rest of his goat-humping buddies, including Obama.
Folks like him don’t have any idea what the true costs of evolution are... He’s no Bolshevik. Ask the people of Russia how their Revolution turned out.
He and his ilk are a small group of hateful inciters, vile bile spewers, so many thugs in 3 piece suits, they need to go to camp for while.. Oh say, maybe one in Cuba..
I shudder when I remember that people of this man's ilk are running this country.
By now we all should accept the fact that Obama and his racist buds run the plantation, not the Koch brothers.
“You guys know Van Jones? . . . Oooh. Van Jones, alright! So, Van Jones. We were so delighted to be able to recruit him into the White House. We were watching him, uh, really, hes not that old, for as long as hes been active out in Oakland. And all the creative ideas he has. And so now, we have captured that. And we have all that energy in the White House.”What Jarrett had to say about her favorite little commie..
Van Jones, and people who believe like him, doesn’t seem to understand that they already live on a plantation. Socialism IS SLAVERY.
And then again, maybe he does understand, and he simply wants some Americans to be tax slaves for others.
Either way, there’s no question that BHO, ironically the first black president, does in fact want to make Americans slaves to the government.
Actually the "Founding Fathers" wanted no truck whatsoever with "democaracy" and wrote our Constitution with that very idea in mind.
Very good article. Good job John Sexton. Couple of thoughts...
Democracy is becoming the new favorite word of the Socialist, Totalitarian, and Tyrant. Democracy is, in itself, useless. (thought this was good http://bit.ly/hEvPIS)
Also, from the article:
“if you assume Exxon could maintain that level of profit in perpetuity and you devoted all of it to paying down the US debt, it would take more than 300 years to pay off what we owe today.”
Not likely. Remember, with our current tax policy Exxon is already paying an amount in taxes very close to the amount of their declared “profit.” Even with that 40+B a year, the Govmnt is still 1.5T in the red. If we upped Exxon’s contribution by another 45B they’d probably find a reason to spend another 60B.
Jones says it’s time we talk about employment. Sorry. It’s time you stopped. Government was empowered to protect the life, liberty, and property of the individual - not to confiscate it. If you’d worry more about making sure productive people like the Koch’s didn’t have their earnings and property constantly under assault by populist demagogues and a rogue Government - we’d have more jobs than we could do.
Just like we did, ummm.... let me see.... 3 years ago.
Actually the "Founding Fathers" wanted no truck whatsoever with "democracy" and wrote our Constitution with that very idea in mind.
Van Jones is just another lunatic Ivy League con artist.
Washington D.C. is infested with these people.
Van Jones (translated): “Slavery is freedom...”
Bingo. What an ignoramus hypocrite.
Then he better start eliminating many of the things he uses in his life...
Koch Industries, Inc. is an American private energy conglomerate based in Wichita, Kansas, with subsidiaries involved in manufacturing, trading and investments. Koch also owns Invista, Georgia-Pacific, Flint Hill Resources, Koch Pipeline, Koch Fertilizer, Koch Minerals and Matador Cattle Company.
Koch companies are involved in core industries such as the manufacturing, refining and distribution of petroleum, chemicals, energy, fiber, intermediates and polymers, minerals, fertilizers, pulp and paper, chemical technology equipment, ranching, finance, commodities trading, as well as other ventures and investments.
LOL. He’s already living on the Democrat plantation. No need to move to another one.
“He prefers to be on the plantation of George Soros...”
And he is living the dream
I see Mr. Jones is African right down to his.....core.
These people do not feel alive w/o 'hate', foment and without their best dream of revolution and power.
Jomes, could of course, go back to Africa or Egypt or wherever the hell he comes from and stir and take solace in their misery; or stir the pot and make life even more miserable for the long-suffering locals.
(If only. . .If only, they all would go and leave 'Freedom' for those who appreciate it.) There are soooo many places that offer a life in a Marxist paradise or something equal to what the reason capable and morally sane reognize as a Hell on earth.)
When is he going to realize that the “government” is not some independent entity out there. It derives its operating capital from the few of us who still work and pay taxes. If he wants more programs and goodies from uncle Sam, it means that the cost of that has to come out of the rest of our pockets. Many of us are barely making it as it is. You have to say no and draw the line in order to start building up and increasing the numbers of those of us who are still surviving on our own. More and more programs or jobs created by government just makes the whole thing collapse faster.
We Will Not Live in an Economic Crackhouse Run by Soros!
Exactly. Jones, 0baSoros & gang want to run everything.
Someone needs to find him a cell.
This was the same protest where the hate-filled, vicious liberals were calling for the lynching of Clarence Thomas.
“Koch brothers” is code word for Jews. Yet another anti-semetic liberal POS.
Couldn’t have said it better myself!
Who will be laughing as he has them rounded up......when they are no longer the useful idiots he needs to fulfill his mission.
There’s a confluence of the left and the global warmists like Hansen who want to confiscate the property of people like the Koch brothers. Hansen’s proposed carbon tax and dividend is nothing more than taking from the rich and giving to the middle class (to buy those votes). Van Jones is on board because of the taking part of the equation. But he is more likely to give the money to some other rich (e.g. Soros, cap and trade scam artists, etc) who will pay him and his rabble for his efforts.
The Koch’s donated around two million dollars to the tea parties last cycle. SEIU spent $28 MILLION pimping Obamacare, ALONE....
Jones is trying to intimidate the Koch’s in to backing down, while saying NOTHING about the hypocrisy of Democrat Orgs filtering literally BILLIONS of dollars, much of it tax money, in to Democrat elections.
The Commie'RATS have tried to change our REPUBLIC into a "democracy" with their damn "ballot propositions" among other things. Ballot propositions are a pet peeve of mine. We elect and then pay good money for the buffoons to make those decisions for us. It's not our job to "vote" on them or have a couple buffoons on some goofy "blue ribbon commissions" to make those decisions. Ballot propositions and "blue ribbon commissions" are unAmerican and a sign of cowardice. JMHO.
Then leave and don't let the door hit your butt on the way out.
These individuals arent exactly flying under the radar as the Kochs hold leadership positions and are featured on the websites for the Cato Institute, Reason Foundation and the Mercatus Center among others. Soros also runs the Open Society Institute — website Soros.org — as well as the recently created Institute for New Economic Thinking.
Still these individuals have provided major funding to groups that aren’t particularly transparent, such as Soros-backed Democracy Alliance, which doesn’t provide information on the projects it funds.
A Washington Post article from January of this year connects the Kochs with the Tea Party movement, citing records of their foundation giving $3.1 million to Americans for Prosperity, but according to the Kochs, this is false, as the money only went to the Americans for Prosperity Foundation.

Take todays conference call on the subject, conducted by Common Cause, featuring such liberal luminaries as former Clinton Labor secretary Robert Reich, disgraced former Obama official and Center for American Progress scholar Van Jones and his colleague Lee Fang, and DeAnn McKewan, co-president of California Nurses Association (yeah, I hadnt heard of her either).
Reich sounded the Koch alarm: their ongoing biannual meetings epitomize the problems that our democracy are facing right now, he told the participants on the conference call. These meetings, he said, are a perfect storm for democracy, because the Koch brothers are rich and can participate in politics, and we have secrecy its all in secret.
So, the Koch brothers hold private assemblies, participate in politics, and are, therefore, a threat to our democracy. Got it?

Media Targets Center-right Donors: Koch Brothers
A month ago we were getting lectures from the media and elites to tone down the rhetoric that targets individuals, and now were being sold the line that everything anti-progressive is funded by two billionaire brothers. Amazing that they think a few million dollars could so easily derail the tens of billions spent on global warming research, currently $4 billion a year from the feds.
Unable to comprehend the tea party, perhaps feeling guilty for having so poorly covered the underlying financial and budgetary topics that has led to the current depression, they instead follow their moronic journalistic reflex to follow the money and try and malign the millions of tea party activists by implying that theyre just marionettes held by the Koch brothers to line their pockets.
It shows just how bad journalism is that this is what they resort to, that theyre incapable of sanely describing and detailing diverse views and then attacking the source and not the idea, when they face a political force they dont understand. Its even more ridiculous when they so clearly take one side in their news judgment and never do ten minutes of research and apply the same critical eye to their leftist friends.
Ain’t this scumbag’s 15 minutes up yet?
....Each step in the development of the bourgeoisie was accompanied by a corresponding political advance of that class. An oppressed class under the sway of the feudal nobility, an armed and self-governing association in the medieval commune(4): here independent urban republic (as in Italy and Germany); there taxable third estate of the monarchy (as in France); afterwards, in the period of manufacturing proper, serving either the semi-feudal or the absolute monarchy as a counterpoise against the nobility, and, in fact, cornerstone of the great monarchies in general, the bourgeoisie has at last, since the establishment of Modern Industry and of the world market, conquered for itself, in the modern representative State, exclusive political sway. The executive of the modern state is but a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie.....
Modern bourgeois society, with its relations of production, of exchange and of property, a society that has conjured up such gigantic means of production and of exchange, is like the sorcerer who is no longer able to control the powers of the nether world whom he has called up by his spells.....
The vast majority of people in my area and probably the rest of the country as well are so ignorant of the constitution and of basic American history that if you try to tell them that this country was never supposed to be a “Democracy” they think you are nuts. If you then tell them that in fact “Democracy” is possibly the worst form of government ever devised they KNOW you are crazy. Cap it off by telling them that the founders considered “Democracy” so despicable that it was almost a profane word and that is why they wrote into the constitution a guarantee of a Republican form of government and they are ready to call someone to lock you up.
The boy doesn’t want to leave the Soros plantation.
0's a mulatto. Clintoon was the first Black president. Zer0's (and Valerie Jarrett) are the first woman TOTUS.
I always think of Michigan’s 15th Congressional District as being the Dingell Family Plantation - taking care of the indigenous tax slaves for the last ~75 years.
