Anderson Cooper of CNN has clearly been one of the most active journalists in Egypt over the course of the past weeks, having done his best to report on the streets and also in the midst of near-constant violence. He has been punched on many accusations, had a car he was in destroyed, and at one point he was even trapped inside of an undisclosed building in order to keep both and his crew safe.
So with all of this in mind, Cooper's announcement Sunday should not come as too great of a surprise. Here is what Anderson had to say via Twitter:
"It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to leave #Egypt. CNN continues to have many teams in place. It was a hard decision to leave."

Cutie Couric and Brian Williams have already fled so I guess he feels it’s okay for him to leave too. He lasted a few days longer than the girls.

Well Anderson Pooper you just got a lesson in “Life in a Middle Eastern Arab country.” They don’t love you Anderson, in fact if they knew you were a homosexual they would have given you some special treatment! All that anti-American dribble that is spewed from CNN daily has really paid off! They hate you and when you are left in their care you have no protection. How does it feel?
