A senior member of the US Marine corps is telling people "multiple platoons" are deploying to Egypt, a source tells us.
There is a system within the US Marines that alerts the immediate families of high-ranking marines when their marine will soon be deployed to an emergency situation where they will not be able to talk to their spouses or families.
That alert just went out, says our source.
This senior Marine told our source that the Pentagon will deploy "multiple platoons" to Egypt over the next few days and that the official reason will be 'to assist in the evacuation of US citizens."
Our source was told that "the chances they were going over there went from 70% yesterday to 100% today."
We're keeping these people anonymous because both would get in trouble for sharing this information with the press.

I for one wish you hadn’t posted this. Even if it’s out there, I say let the USMC determine when they go public with their deployments.
There are US Army forces stationed in the Sinai as part of the multinational peacekeeping force. These Marines might be being deployed to reinforce them.

Do you mean to use against US if The One pulls more crap that forces our hand to rebellion, or to defeat the LEFT when they riot after the next round of electoral drubbing they take?
Battalion Landing Team 3/8, out of Lejeune, was temporarily assigned to the 26th MEU as air elements from the 26th got them into Afghanistan, that's all.
3/8 is now a part of the 22nd MEU in Afghanistan.
We will not be putting troops on the ground outside of diplomatic and air base locations. Everyone will be inside the wire.
However, other naval assets are coming in to secure ports and the Suez if needed, which is very, very unlikely.
My understanding is that all American nationals that want out, are out.

I want these Marines at home because:
1. We have no business sending them to Egypt. The Egyptian military and police can resolve their own problems.
2. We have an invasion across our southern border that the Marines could be instrumental in correcting.
< /offended sarc > might be appropriate. And in no way do I believe that you are "dumb" or that you meant a violation of posse comitatus.
But I would not put it past him to try, if it comes to blows!
