The White House said Monday that the former ambassador President Obama sent to Cairo doesn’t speak for the administration, even after he carried a message from Obama to Hosni Mubarak.

The envoy, Frank Wisner, said over the weekend that Mubarak’s “continued leadership is critical” in Egypt and that “it’s his opportunity to write his own legacy,” while the White House has suggested that Mubarak needs to leave power sooner rather than later.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters on Monday that Wisner “is not an employee of the government” and that he wasn’t speaking for the administration when he made his comments at a conference in Munich.

Ambassadors aren’t usually found under buses for doing what their boss asked... methinks Obama is off his lithium.

Whiskey Foxtrot Tango. What government or who does Barry and his minions work for? What about the State Department? Maybe Bob and Barry realize they are just puppets for something completely unexpected. Why is Bob still around? I thought they booted him a while back.

True, but Wisner (to his credit) didn't do what Obama told him to do. This FoxNews article has more detail. It says in part:

The Obama administration this weekend cast off an unusually candid diplomat sent to urge Hosni Mubarak to step down as president of Egypt, but appears now to be echoing the sentiments of Amb. Frank Wisner that an "orderly transition" can't take place in a power vacuum....

Wisner was sent to urge Mubarak to step down, instead he shocked a conference of diplomats assembled in Munich Saturday when he said that Mubarak had to keep a leadership role at least temporarily if the "fragile glimmerings" of progress were to take hold as quickly as needed to prevent radical groups like the Muslim Brotherhood from filling the void.

"President Mubarak's role remains utterly critical in the days ahead while we sort our way toward a future" in which Egypt is peaceful and moderate, and committed to its international obligations, including its peace treaty with Israel, Wisner said via teleconference.

Yes, Zer0 wants a coup d’etat instead of an orderly transfer of power using the democratic process. This is how the enemies of the people take control.
