Bristol Palin: I’d ‘probably’ run for office ‘further down the road’
Daily Caller ^ | 2/7/11 | Laura Donovan

Posted on 02/07/2011 9:01:04 PM PST by pissant

In an exclusive, in-depth interview with E! Online’s Giuliana Rancic, “Dancing With the Stars” finalist Bristol Palin talked about running for public office “further down the road,” son Tripp, ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston, her new boyfriend, and being a Maricopa, Ariz. homeowner.

When Rancic asked if she would ever run for office, Palin said, “Probably. But that would be further down the road.”

“If I saw something that needed to be changed, then I would step up to the plate and do something about it,” Palin said, addressing what would motivate her to enter elective politics.

Palin said she would run for office regardless of the invasion of privacy and scrutiny that goes hand in hand with being a political figure.

“I think it would be a good enough payoff if I knew that I was going to go into something and change it and make it better,” Palin said.

Bristol also said during the interview that her mother, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, would make a “wonderful” president.

“I think she would be a wonderful president, and I still think that she should run,” Palin said. “She’s just so common-sense conservative….just, ‘Here’s what we’ve gotta do and this is how we’re gonna do it,’ and she brings a whole ‘nother aspect to politics because she’s a mom, because she runs a household, and I just think she’s really smart.”

Pissant is just so damn funny.

And has a sense of humor even if most Freepers can’t stand his position in regards to Sarah. I don’t have a problem with it.

At least he ain’t promo’ing Mutt, Huck or Newt.

“All college offers is a chance for a job.”

Oh, I disagree. College can be a wonderful, valuable experience in the maturation process and higher learning. No, I’m not necessarily talking Ivy League. although that shouldn’t be demonized, either. I loved college - yes, I had both good and bad teachers (just like grade school and high school), but I’m thankful for the experience and learned a lot (especially in hindsight).

While it’s not necessary for life success, it’s so much more than just “a chance for a job”.

Well, she doesn’t support clubbing babies to death like they were seals, and she was born in America, so she’s already 2 steops ahead of the current President.

It’s how her Mama got started, in local politics, moving up the ladder as she saw that things needed to be done. Why not? Lots of folks don’t ever bother to try to do something if they see things aren’t working. If she’s willing to learn the ropes and put herself out there on the line, why would anyone fault her for that?

After these past few weeks of hearing rancid nonsense from offspring like Meghan McCain, Ron Reagan and Patti Davis... heck, Bristol sure has been looking better and better! She makes some questionable moves at times, but seems plucky and good-hearted.

Get over yourself, a-hole.
The girl has too much free time on her hands and she *thinks* her mother's renown extends to herself. And I'll state something else for you - the one coming up behind her, Willow, will be worse.
How old are Bachmann's children? How is it they are never in the news? Ditto for the Palin's son.

If not for her mother's good fortune, Bristol would be worried about earning enough to keep her child in Pampers rather than publishing her 'memoir' and speculating on a future political office, that is, if the 'payoff' warrants it. (Twit)

Yes, of course, Bristol needs to write a memoir then run for office...unbelievable.

I'm not a "Palin hater", she's my preferred candidate. I just wish her daughters would grow up and cease behaving like they're celebrities. I can only imagine what the WH would be like with this Bristol and Willow running pell-mell crazy. Both of them lack discipline and to be honest could use a lesson or two in how a proper young lady conducts herself.

Also, I really could do w/o snarky comments from hillbillies who live vicariously thru the Palin's. :^)

We appear to be in the minority here, but deciding on a life of politics based on one’s family name doesn’t sound like a well thought out career choice, and suggests a certain level of emotional immaturity.

To 20 - That couldn't be Bristol's list. Her's would have the entries:

*Convince world I'm a twit.
*Embarrass mom & dad.

LOLOL!! Get over myself? You’re funny!

Those girls didn’t seek attention. They have been attacked mercilessly since the very beginning of the campaign. I’m proud of Bristol and her sisters. They are incredibly strong young ladies, just like her mom. You’re the one with a problem, not them.

And as for Sarah Palin’s “good fortune”. I’m guessing you would crap in your pants if you fell into that “good fortune”.

gents, you are both intelligent Palin fans. No need to get hostile over this. I posted it for light hearted info/humor. Not worth the name calling. Save that for the candidates after they announce.

I didn’t resort to name calling. And in this case, I was defending Bristol Palin, not her mother. Bristol Palin has not done one thing to elicit the hatred that’s been directed at her. She’s a fine young lady who would make any parent proud. Conservatives, esp. at FR, claim to be for freedom and liberty but let someone like Bristol do something out of the ordinary and all hell comes crashing down on her. It’s my belief that those who attack her do so because they are embarrassed and are too much of cowards to defend her honor to their liberal friends. They don’t want to be bothered.

I bestow neither honor nor scorn on her. But like all the palin fans said when she took Levi back - “she’s an adult, she can do whatever she wants”. Yes, I agree, and as an adult, she has chosen to put herself in the public eye. Aside from DWTS, she’s given lots of interviews, including this one apparently to E!, which is a cheesy paparazzi outfit. She makes money for it, great. But there is no reason whatsoever for anyone, conservative or otherwise, to feel some obligation to defend her honor. As an adult, she sinks or swims by her actions and words. Just like every other adult kid of a politician.
