They ought to be learning Chinese instead.
Great, so now our kids can say “please don’t cut off my head” in Arabic...right before they cut off their heads. This will help!
I assume to accompany mandatory classes in Spanish. Students do not have to look far to practice their Spanish. Apparently “educators” expect the same for Arabic.
Who in the 0bummer regime is behind this?
I think if I still had kids going through school, I would want them to learn a foreign language, but my choice given what I see down the road would be Mandarin.
Do we need anymore proof?
First words in arabic for the teachers kiddies.....”””Kil zeggie !”””....aka “Eat Sh*t”......!!!
Second phrase.....”””Bous Zippy”””.......Won’t even translate that one on the open forum.
I’m all for learning the language of your enemies so that you can defeat them, but I somehow doubt that this is the goal behind the policy here.
The US military and intelligence groups are badly in need of people who can speak languages such as Chinese, Farsi, and Arabic
I really don’t have a problem with schools teaching languages that will be more useful than, say, French.
I was wondering how that cr*p got into Texas...but then I saw the magic words...”federal grant”.
The slime and corruption of the Obamaloon administration just keeps going and going.
But unlike the energizer bunny, it will end, and there will be a price to pay.
Absurd! Roll over leftists love to be punished in any fashion for the misdeeds of the white devil. The prepare for it always. Stop the insanity. If one wants to learn Arabic at some point fine but don’t make our kids roll over for the “probability of a muslim future.
Throw in some “pig latin” so the muzzies will leave.
Update from last night’s school board meeting:
“Mansfield ISD officials apologized to parents Monday night over a plan to teach Arabic culture in every class at one school.
Many parents said they hadn’t been told about the mandatory curriculum change.
Parents and teachers packed a Mansfield ISD school cafeteria to hear learn more about why Arabic language and culture could soon be embedded in everything their children learn.
Veronika Webb is a sixth-grader at Cross Timbers Intermediate School. Her parents adopted her from Russia when she was three years old. She had to learn English, but her language challenges weren’t over.
“She had to learn Spanish when she was in elementary school, and now they want her to learn Arabic,” said Bobbi Webb, Veronika’s mom.
The Mansfield ISD plans to use grant money to start a program that would look at almost every subject from an Arab perspective, but Monday was the first time they’ve explained it to parents.”
Parents and taxpayers must remain vigilant as our culture is attacked and we are expected to pay for it!
Mandatory Arabic language study in Texas? Sorry, I don’t believe it.
They should teach them English.
I could see driving Spanish language classes in Texas. And as far as the “language of the future” for this decade, it would be Mandarin Chinese. Of course, back in the 1980s, the language of the future was Japanese.
My position would be to for elementary schools to do 4 weeks of Arabic, 4 weeks of Chinese, 4 weeks of Spanish, and 4 weeks of Latin. Then repeat. Not every kid will learn deeply, but at least they’ll be exposed and might consider taking more later on. And, of course, high schools ought to try to offer all of these as electives.
This is the school district I live in. Fortunately it is not the schools that my kids go to that are affected right now. I can tell you that it is already raising a lot of hackles in the community. The school board is really going to get an earful.
