That is what i thought Brewer may be one of the few who could sail into it.

I’d pay good money to see a Napolitano/Brewer all out brawl.

Kyl is considered to be a conservative, and was ranked by National Journal as the fourth-most conservative United States Senator in their March 2007 conservative/liberal ranking.

Well, the direction of the site has turned from the free expression of ideas to an advocacy site.

If you don't advocate the right "stuff", you are not welcome here.

A real loss to Arizona and our government...Jon Kyl is one of a hand full of Senators with integrity. Why are so many quitting - do they see the Union Take Over of America? Or are there other reasons at work. The country can’t afford to lose men like Kyl....pray for a good replacement...Napolitano was mentioned - Can anyone believe it- that woman isn’t an option...may she slip on a banana peel.............

I don’t know AZ politics that well, but it would seem to me that Napolitano’s water-carrying for BO, particularly on immigration, hasn’t endeared her to the home folks.

It’s a shame that the worst of the Democrats seem to stay in office for life.

Don’t like losing the good ones.

Serving in the United States Senate (or House) is not supposed to be a lifetime position. If every senator served only two terms and every congressmen served only four terms, we wouldn't have nearly the problems that we now have inside the Beltway.

Kyl will be missed, but I am certian that he is not the only politician in Arizona with conservative credentials.

3 terms. Good or bad, that’s long enough.

EXACTLY !! there are many memnbers of the House that would be GREAT Senators ! and open up MORE seats in the House that we can bring in REAL CONSERVATIVES not GOP/RNC bobbleheads ! This whole "seniority" thing in the House is KILLING US FOLKS ! 2 terms at the MOST for the House.. After 2 terms in the house... if you are GOOD then run for the Senate or go home ! Let's GOOOH folks !

I do believe you’ve just described the democrat strategy. That kid who stayed with Giffords after the shooting would be their first choice, but he’s not old enough. I could see Dupnik running for it, he’s loony enough. It will be one of the shooting victims or a spouse.

exactly, i think senate terms should be reduced to 4 years and all 100 should be elected every 4 years with the presidency, save costs.

Max 2 terms just like the Presidency and all house seats max of 4 terms.

These guys need to know the gravy train is not permanent.

AMEN AMEN and AMEN !! What has our country been reduced to? that we OWE good senators a lifetime appointment? If they are that good than the odds are their replacement will be just as good... if a “bad” one steps down it gives us the opportunity to make a case for a “good” one.. period..

He's only just been elected to his first term, but Rep. Paul Gosar seems pretty good (from Wikipedia article):
Gosar describes himself as pro-life. Gosar supports the 2nd Amendment and opposes restrictions on firearm ownership. He describes himself as a fiscal conservative. He opposes the Affordable Health Care for America Act.
Regarding immigration, Gosar supports Arizona Senate Bill 1070. He advocates deploying soldiers to the border and supports building a double barrier fence.

This one’s a no-brainer. Governor Jan Brewer. She’s won state wide office as both Secretary of State and Governor and owns the immigration/borders issue. She’s been tested in the face of fierce opposition from the media and various well-funded special interest groups. She’s 66, but she’d still be a breath of fresh air compared to the senior
Senator.

Senator Kyl is my U.S. Senator and will be our guest speaker at our annual Mohave County Central Committee’s Lincoln Day Dinner this Saturday. I believe he had planned this term to be his last. I believe our US Congressman Trent Franks would be an excellent candidate to replace his seat, as much as I’d hate to have him leave us. Am hearing through the political grapevine that newly elected Ben Quayle’s name is coming up to run for Kyl’s seat.
