Posted on 02/10/2011 2:16:35 PM PST by speciallybland
A steady stream of Texas Rep. Ron Paul's supporters walked out of a planned tribute for Donald Rumsfeld at CPAC Thursday afternoon. The walk-out had been planned ahead of time in part by Campaign for Liberty organizers and it seemed to be supported by more than 100 CPAC attendees.
The former defense secretary was also booed when took to the stage. There seemed to be a back-and-forth between Paul supporters and other CPAC attendees trying to drown each other out while Rumsfeld watched.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney then took the stage, but the heckling did not stop in what was an amazing display of friction. Someone in the crowd yelled to Cheney above the din "draft dodger." Nonetheless, the crowd is overwhelmingly warm to Rumsfeld, who eventually took his place in the presentation.

I knew the Paulites would be out in force again at CPAC. Now look for them to give Ron Paul the victory in the straw poll for POTUS.
CPAC is a total disaster.
The Ron Paul nuts in action.
Not a surprise. This organization has done nothing but slap traditional conservatives around lately.
Hence the term Paultard.
They act just like liberals - they can’t win on the battlefield of ideas, so they disrupt.
Liberal moles infiltrating CPAC.
That’s it for Ron Paul, for me. I love Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney, too.
I just got tweet from Rummy Twitter account LOL!

They are rude.
Absolutely disgraceful. Rumsfeld is not without his faults, but who isn't? We've gone 10-years without a major, coordinated attack on American soil. Rumsfeld deserves his share of the credit. The people who were killed attacking American service members in Iraq and Afghanistan, would have found their way to America, had they not been stopped.
Paultards, and many others, apparently are either ignorant to this fact, or they choose to ignore it.
Between the sodomites and the Paulistinians, CPAC is a joke whose punchline needs to be gotten over with.
CPAC is a joke.
Tea Parties in town squares and parks around this country are where conservatives meet to plan victory. Not at blue blood beltway circle jerks.
Seems the Paulites and Code Pink have much in common.
Ok, rude ingnorant, nuts. The many that post here go to extremes to hide their nutty positions.
Are they showing this on CSPAN?
-——Paultards, and many others——
Many others.....could we say FReetards
Exactly what you’d expect from the crackheads who support Ron Paul. Rummy should see it as an honor.
I hate Paulhroids!
Foo on that. I still like all three of 'em. They don't have to like each other. And they don't have to like me either. heh. I must admit to prefer Rumsfeld and/or Cheney over Paul.
I use the term “Paulhroid” as this event magnificently illustrates. They are the hemmorhoids of politics.
Ron Paul and his retarded followers aren’t worthy to carry Rummy’s jockstrap.
...and bongs and crack pipes, and Taco Bell trash...
Obama reviews the infighting and is exceptionally pleased.
They sound as bad as Code Pink.
If he said we should pull all financial support for Israel, they would love him.
Of course, he’s not that crazy.
No, Dick and I love Liberaltarians. Really. Compared to them, any foreign policy looks brilliant.
It’s not really infighting, it is an attempt by lunatic fringe libertarians to hijack the GOP using the tactics of anarchists, who happen to be their kissing cousins.
CPAC and Ron Paul are something else.
CPAC [ = Obama Republicans] supports the Islamic invasion, CAIR, Mitt Romney and antiSemitism.
CPAC/ACU/CAIR is run by David Keene
involved in Palin-bashing and Romney-care polishing.
"Washington Insider David Keene Disses Governor Palin, Claims to Speak for Grassroots
"Keene's ACU also puts on the annual CPAC conference in Washington.
.In the last three years CPAC has devolved into nothing more than
an annual love fest for the most established of establishment
Republicans, Mitt Romney. It should come as no surprise that David
Keene supported Mitt Romney in 2008. "
"ACU President David Keene Endorses Romney
Long courted by Romney, Keene agreed to formalize his endorsement of
the former governor during a face to face meeting in Florida on
Tuesday, according to knowledgeable sources."
"David A. Keene (born May 20, 1945) is the current chairman of the American
Conservative Union, a position which he has held since 1984. Additionally, he is the
managing associate at the Carmen Group Lobbying, a lobbying firm based in
Washington, D.C. In December 2007, Keene endorsed Mitt Romney's presidential campaign. "
"(at CPAC 2010, the) message there was that "real conservatives" don't support the war
on terror because it is a creation of the "Israeli lobby" - which coalesces with the left-
wing's new anti-Semitism against neoconservatives. Karen Kwiatkowski is a darling of
both the leftist Huffington Post and the anti-Semitic paleocon site Antiwar.com.
is a board member of the ACU, and from the looks of CPAC's
covered topics and omission of discussion of jihad, it looks as if he exerts enormous
influence over David Keene, the ACU's nominal leader. Norquist and his ally Suhail
Khan seem to be in charge at CPAC - no CPAC event goes on that doesn't reflect their perspective. .
Grover Norquist's troubling ties to Islamic supremacists and jihadists have been known
for years. He and his Palestinian wife, Samah Alrayyes, who was director of
communications for his Islamic Free Market Institute until they married in 2005, are very
active in "Muslim outreach." ..
It was Norquist who ushered these silver-tongued jihadists into the Oval Office after the
worst attack ever on American soil. .
Grover Norquist was on the jihad payroll before and after the carnage and death of
September 11 .
Norquist also introduced Nihad Awad, cofounder and executive director of the Council
on American-Islamic Relations, to President Bush. .
It is no surprise that CPAC 2010, like CPAC 2009, had nothing addressing the war we
are actually engaged in. This is due to the influence of Norquist, Keene, and Suhail Khan,
a CPAC board member. According to Gaffney, Khan "has repeatedly been a featured
speaker at MSA, ISNA and CAIR events" - that is, Muslim Students Association, Islamic
Society of North America, and Council on American-Islamic Relations, three groups
linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, the international Islamic organization dedicated to
establishing the rule of Islamic law and the subjugation of infidels worldwide."
CFL had a bus going down to DC this morning from NYC, for a one-day CPAC visit. The day of the straw poll, of course.
Would you let that man deliver your baby?
Love the button
I was watching it on CSPAN. I felt bad for Rumsfeld.
These Paulers are real fools, they remind me of the John Birchers.
Our very own Code Pink.
Enough of these Paulistas..........
He will not get my vote for anything ever!
Thanks for those links...it’s a public service.
Paul followers are real scum.
I don’t agree on everything with Rumsfeld, but the oomPauloompas are out of line here.
I’m here at CPAC doing a booksigning, and the “Anti-War” nuts are just everywhere. I wonder how the Paulites get so many people infiltrated into this meeting??
Spot on indeed. American conservatism is comprised of three indissoluble principles; social values, national defense, and classic economic liberalism. A movement that includes those who categorically reject one of those ethos is not a big tent. It is a circus.
The Paul supporters should get their own event, the LPAC- Libtardarian Political Action Committee.
I was very disappointed that Michelle Bachman wanted anything to do with this sorry-ass bunch.
Ah, let us not forget "their" accepting as "one of them," the BOTTOM-FEEDING, Islamo-Fascist, Hamas/Hizbollah, supporting, SCUMBAG (and one who has caused tremendous damage to our Republic)...phony, pseudo "Conservative," Grover Norquist.
Paul fans would die for freedom.
Code Pinkos would kill to stop it.
Watching events out of CPAC this year has been a lot like watching a tractor inner-tube deflate.
Deflated inner-tubes are unable to support much.
And so goes the deflated CPAC...
