Thousands of protesters gathered in Yemen's capital, Sana'a, Saturday to celebrate the resignation of Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak and call for their own president, Ali Abdullah Saleh, to step down.

The protesters began marching toward the Egyptian embassy but were confronted and pushed back by a group of men armed with sticks. There were conflicting reports as to whether the armed men were police or government supporters.

The gathering points for Saturday's protests were Sana'a University and the city's Tahrir Square, which bears the same name as the rallying point for the protests in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

The Left is all of a sudden in a hurry these past number of years. Gone is the incrementalist approach favored for so long by those seeking to transform the World to their Utopian vision.

Soros, and his crowd are in their 80’s, and I believe they want to see their handiwork succeed before they die.

Just a thought on the speed of things happening today.

If the people had the right to choose Osama Bin Laden would be sipping tea in the Presidential palace of Yemen.

If Bin Laden were elected President of Yemen Obama would fly there so he could bow to him.

I just read an article that stated that the youth in Yemen have a difficult time protesting all day because they need their qat breaks.

And once they have their qat, they’re ready to go all night.

The morons in the press reporting “jubilant celebrations of gunfire bursts” in Egypt; this is a total disconnect from reality for the Middle East. Even mere bullet possession in Egypt is a crime.

For example, a Bahrani Law Enforcement Officer that I know, he served five years in prison. His crime: lost one bullet overboard while working Bahrani Coast Guard duties in Mina Solomon. And this was a surprisingly lenient sentence.

Guess in his case, it always helps being the Emir’s cousin.

Cheers,
OLA

I could look it up, but please tell me what is “qat” and it’s significance.

Dominos, in Yemen? I doubt it.

When I lived there the only way to get a decent pizza was to have it flown by C-130 with the Valves from UAE.

An hour from the resturant to the airport, two hours waiting to leave because not all the fittings had arrived yet, 4 hour flight, about an hour after the plane landed you could get to a place where you wouldn't have to share each crumb with 3,000 others. Still those 8 hour old pizzas were better than the spam topped ones they served in the mess hall.

Oh wait, what were we talking about???...
