Gun ‘buy back’ minister charged with kidnapping, assault(OH)
Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 13 February, 2011 | David Codrea

“Local pastor charged in assault,” the Akron Beacon Journal reports. “Minister accused of speeding off in Lexus with repo man on hood.”

If the repo man’s story bears out, it sounds like a pretty wild ride:

He said the pastor was smiling during parts of the drive as he weaved and made sharp moves in an apparent effort to toss the repo man off.

''He hit the windshield wipers to try to knock my hands off the hood,'' Falzini said. ''He was laughing at me, telling me he was going to take me on the interstate.''

Pastor Marc Neal is in a heap of trouble:

A month after the incident, Neal has been charged with felonious assault, kidnapping and abduction.

Here they are: Counts one, two and three.

But curious thing about Neal. He’s a prominent local activist pushing citizen disarmament as the way to stop the violence.

''As community leaders we must promote safety. The possession of guns increases the risk of tragedy,'' Neal said.

Believing something needed to be done to get illegal guns off the streets, Neal approached the Akron Police Department and the Summit County's Sheriff's and Prosecutor's offices, with the gun buyback idea.

And it’s not just “on the streets” where Neal wants to remove the guns. From the following year’s event:

"It relieves the easy access of guns being available inside the home," Neal said.

All things considered, I guess that’s understandable.

And hardly surprising.

Funny thing about some people who don’t trust the rest of us with guns…

Many anti-freedom activists do not trust themselves to act rationally. They project this attitude onto others.

“He’s a prominent local activist pushing citizen disarmament as the way to stop the violence.”

Why am I not surprised? Most gun control activists are the biggest hypocrites.

May the judge throw the book at Pastor Neal and throw him in jail.

What’s up with the preacher man owning (until it was repossessed) a Lexus?

Agreed. Another charlatan hiding behind the title of Pastor. There ought to be special place in hell for people like that, which includes Jackson and Sharpton.

Too bad it wasn’t the bald headed belligerent numbnuts from the Repo show. Or the fat girl with the lip piercings.

Another charlatan hiding behind the title of Pastor.

Indeed. From the original article referenced by this article, it's pretty obvious this "pastor" is not a regular pastor, but a swindler...

When buyers fail to make a loan payment, the lender notifies the debtor that the car will be repossessed. It's Falzini's job to tow away the vehicles.

In Neal's case, Falzini said, the 2007 vehicle, worth nearly $60,000, was purchased through the minister's church.

The car's monthly payment of about $1,000 was overdue, and the balance owed was about $50,000, he said.

How can you buy back something you didn’t sell?

No kidding, he could have just as easily killed that man as if he’d had a gun shooting at him. I hope they throw this man into prison for a long time. Seems like the people that scream the loudest about peace are the least likely to actually do what they say.

"Never forget, even for an instant, that the one and only reason anybody has for taking your gun away is to make you weaker than he is, so he can do something to you that you wouldn’t let him do if you were equipped to prevent it. This goes for burglars, muggers, and rapists, and even more so for policemen, bureaucrats, and politicians." — Aaron Zelman and L. Neil Smith, Hope (2001)

A carpenter with a 12-man crew? An F-350 with a long bed and king cab. Maybe even a duallie.

It is strange to me to think that a congregation would be heartened to see their pastor driving a $60k car Lexus I guess that is the way sometimes.

“Oh look how the Lord has blessed Rev Ike”

I’m betting he’s one of those who claim they were “called to preach” and just began their inane babblings to whatever fools would listen. He can’t pronounce most of the words, much less understand what they mean, and he preaches “social justice” on the order of “Vote Democrat”.

Preachers make good money. It is more about how much you bring in each Sunday rather than what you give out each Sunday.

"Explanation of the source of the left’s ideology can be found here: John 8:44"

EXACTLY
"..Now, just as a central purpose of religion is to order the soul, the central purpose of politics is to order the collective. But again, not for its own sake, but for the possibility of higher things (which ultimately revert back to the order of the soul). Thus, a government of disordered souls who only increase political disorder is actually a real evil, and should be recognized as such. .."
