I guess not but seeing a 300 pound woman doingthe same isn’t too much fun either.

They’re blind, not stupid. If someone sneaks into my bedroom in the pitch-black of night and starts to rough me up, they’re going to get shot if they don’t kill me first. It’s not the optimal situation, but I’d rather have a gun than not, even if I can’t see.

Why should a blind man being assaulted or stabbed not have the same right to self-defense? He will know where the attacker is, and may not even have to fire upon presenting the weapon.

Blind people are extremely cautious by nature, often much more so than people who can see. I think you grossly underestimate their intelligence.

oh lighten up

I’m talking about a totally blind person who cannot see running around with a frigging gun.
If you cannot have a joke about it then do one and find a sense of humor.

Now to get serious with you.
If you think someone who cannot see at all and is totally blind should be now given a gun then you need your head testing

Someone who cannot see at all having a gun, and then hears a shot cannot aim, cannot think if that shot was for them.

Think about it before you get on your high horse next time hey

Lighten up? You’re making jokes about which you know nothing. I work with blind people, and I don’t find your snarky remarks funny. If you seriously think a blind man is going to randomly start firing into the air where he thinks a shot came from, then YOU need “to get your head examined.”

I gave you an example of an assault or stabbing...should they just take it and die because you don’t trust them with a gun?

couldn’t give a crap who you work with.

if you can’t take a joke then lighten up.
As for giving a gun to someone who can’t even see and then let them fire it then you’re way out there

as for thinking did they shoot at me, well have you been shot at because I have and on our patrol we did not know which man was meant to be targeted.

firing into the air, who the hell said firing into the air?

As for jokes, well if I hurt you’re feelings then tough, the problem with today is that some can’t take a joke due to PC or just a plug up their ass

you know what I’ll tell a joke to everyone here about this now just for you

A blind person could point a shotgun in the direction of a threat....accurately enough, IMO.

You’ve revealed enough about yourself here. I’m done.

revealed humor

Might not be your kind of humor but the wife and kids love it, and anyone know when married for so long you need a sense of humor

This strikes home to me because, when I went to get a new prescription for glasses, was diagnosed as being legally blind and will be completely blind within 2-24 months (Advanced Glaucoma I didn’t know I had.) I am very lucky in the fact that I have exceptional, way above average hearing that I have always relied upon as much as my sight. I’m going through all the realities of the situation in my mind and trying to learn all I can while I do have some sight left. Our family is making plans to make things easier for me to retain my independence.

The first thing is to move to a single-story dwelling in the city (Horrors!) where there is public transportation as I will no longer be able to drive and also will have smooth sidewalks as opposed to rocks, stumps, and holes in the ground. What concerns me most is the fear of being mugged, beaten, etc after reading how often it happens to blind people.

Losing my ccp and not having the ability to defend myself is frightening right now. I certainly wouldn’t want to fire a gun and hit an innocent bystander, but I would like be able to shoot a mugger beating me down at close range. Do I accept that I lose my ability of defense just as I lose so many other things I currently take for granted? Probably. But it is a struggle to accept.

Kansas is looking like a fine state to settle into at the moment.
