A person can be “legally blind”, with vision bad enough that they can’t read documents or drive, yet still be more than capable of shooting an assailant. Keep in mind that most violent assaults occur at arms-reach distance.

Oh, c'mon, now, quit trying to interject common sense into an argument about (gasp!) guns!

Besides, you know those are just evil little inanimate objects just sitting around awaiting their opportunities to jump out, go off, and shoot innocent bystanders!
