The sub-premise seems to be that if I’m agnostic, I can’t be a conservative.
Conservatives accept the gay lifestyle, feminism and single parenthood as “normal.”
Well now, who gets to define "Conservatism?"
In a social sense, homosexuality is definitely not conservative. But you have to pick and choose your battles, don't you? Why can't "full-spectrum conservatives" work with these gays on issues of mutual interest? Real world politics is about forging alliances.
Of course, GOProud could forego some of the name-calling itself...
The GOP wanted a ‘Big Tent’, but look what the heck they’re doing in it!..................
CPAC has probably decided to stop courting religious conservatives.
Star is right!
Marriage can’t be between people of the same sex. Simply calling unions between two people of the same sex “marriage” makes as much sense as calling “east,” “west.” You can try it, but you should expect some people to get lost until you manage to get all the maps and road signs changed.
In the meantime, why should the rest of us go along with your new word usage, much less pay for it or prosecute and sue people who don’t agree with you?
There’s no evidence that such a change in usage or practice is healthy for either the adults or their children — there’s more for polygamous marriage, in fact! However, most of us agree that polygamy is not good for men, women, children or society.
Historically, throughout history, marriage has been between a man and a woman. Even in polygamous societies, the man marries the woman and vice versa — she doesn’t marry all of the wives as well as the man.

“These eternal truths provide the light in the fog that keeps us from crashing on the rocky shores where our base instincts lead us.”
Wow that is worth using as a quote for a sermon! I am impressed.
Sorry, I had to reply to you on this thread because the other thread has been locked for some reason.
Many folks are what I'd call "cafeteria plan" conservatives. They select the parts that best fit their individual need and ignores or compromises the other facets of conservatism. They are not much unlike most moderates, they stand for very little and fall for most other things and are easily led into the ditch.
