Twelve for '12: A Dozen Republicans Who Could Be the Next President - Sarah Palin
Time Magazine ^ | February 14, 2011 | Feifei Sun

Posted on 02/14/2011 2:26:41 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Age: 46

Last held public office: Governor of Alaska, 2006-2009

No one commands the adoration or loyalty of John Q. Republican quite like Sarah Palin. Master of folksy quips and pitch perfect populism, the former vice presidential candidate has fabulous base appeal. Her personal story of carrying to term a Down's child gives her unquestionable credibility with anti-abortion activists. After a gig with Fox News, two books, a TLC reality show and two years of swarming attention from the national press corps, the Palin brand is as potent as it is ubiquitous.

One of the characteristics that make Palin so popular with the Republican base is her unshakable one-against-the-world mentality. In Palin's eyes, the "Lamestream Media," jealous rivals and good old boy establishment are working tirelessly to undo her. It's a compelling narrative at a Tea Party rally, but it hasn't much helped her standing elsewhere....

Sarah Palin - Liberal Mind Squatter

At least she has plenty of room in there for furniture.

I discussed with a friend last night the WHY of Sarah Palin Derangement Syndrome, here is what we came up with:

1. After the RNC Speech they were scared shiftless that she was able to “Energize the base” 1000X as much as their toadie Juan McCain, and this became a threat and thus became their “public enemy #1”.

2. She doesn’t prescribe to the their ideal of “Institutional Liberal Feminism” and thus is seen as a “Heretic” in the eyes of the “Religion of the 60’s radical Feminist”.

3. She is seen as a threat to the “Pro-Choice” movement, specifically the “Pro-Abortion” Radicals who inhabit that organization because of her willingness to actually have the audacity to give birth and care for a child who has Downs Syndrome instead of just aborting it like the genetic councilors ie. eugenicists prescribe.

4. The Love/Hate paradigm. Before Sarah Palin was nominated for VP she was a bit of a Hero in the minds on some of the left, but for all the wrong reasons. They Loved her for taking on the “Good Ol’ Boys Network” in Alaska performing a good olde fashioned house cleaning and dealing with the political corruption surrounding the oil companies who had bought off the RINOs in Alaska. She was actually doing these things because it “Was the right thing to do” and because it was the Conservative thing to do. The lefties thought she was doing it out of “Social Justice” because it involved punishing Republicans ie. (RINOS), but it was just Plain(Palin) Justice. When she accepted the VP nomination, those on the left who liked her saw it as a complete betrayal and when they realized what her true conservative ideals were, they went from Love straight to Hate and Loathing because they were ashamed they “loved her before they hated her”.

Those are my theories on why Palin Derangement Syndrome exists.

Yep. Bachmann too. You can tell who the left is most scared of - if they can’t belittle them, they ignore them.

I tend to agree that most of the hatred is coming from pro-aboritionists.

A friend of ours lost his wife and almost full-term baby last week due to a crash. His died within an hour of accident, they delivered the baby. 36hrs of cooling treatment to reduce the brain swelling on the baby. 36hr was up and no brain activity. Father had to shut off life support. Before he did, he took pictures with her, bathing her for the first time, dressing her for the first time, and then he and his family sang her into heaven. It was heartbreaking. He wrote on his blog about the pregnancy and the deaths. Devout Christian man...

Well, some “evil” mean spirited people posted on his blog how she should of just f’ing died, she was a vegetable, etc. He had to turn off the comments section.

38,000 people prayed for her, for him, and his family...all over the world..and then you have cruel people who post comments like that on his blog...

His wife died..sorry for the typo..and it was a semi that slammed into their van..during a snow storm...in which her father was driving, he pulled off the side of the road, to keep from getting hit and well...you know. Just so sad, but the man’s unwavering love of the Lord was amazing.

Oh good! Then it isn't just me noticing it.

and how many other political nominee’s have quit over the years to run for another office/position/Presidency? Obama was a Senator and yet, he ran for almost two years. Tell me, did he serve his constituents better or worse by remaining and not resigning to campaign for President?

I agree with the list, especially the one dealing with rooting out corruption, even within her own party. She sealed her fate with RINO’s, others who have corruption in their closets. I am sure many were scared that if she got to Washington, some dirty laundry would be aired.

I agree that she not only says she is pro-Life, but has actually lived that out, has earned her the deep enmity of some on the "Pro-Choice" side.

Most people who are pro-Life they can blow off, saying "Well, if you were in that position you would probably do something different than what you say" but they can't say that about her. She has proven she means it.

When she had that baby at the convention, and carried him around on the stage, facing out so everyone could see him plainly, as if to say, "See, here he is, he's a baby, a human being!" I think it was an unforgivable affront.

She and her family prove the lies: it really is a baby; you can have a less-than "perfect" (according to most in our society) baby and still have a life, a career, and success; an individual with a handicap or disability is still a person, still has worth, and is not "better off dead."

She puts the lie to almost everything that has ever been said about abortion, and they can't stand it.

Your other points are valid as well, but I think this is the one that gets them in the gut.

It’s time to start calling it what it is when we see it. That’s not cruelty, it’s pure evil.

>> “For instance - what is Sarah’s?” <<

.
Try “Running for governor against an incumbant from her own party, on her own funds, without other consultants, and without hiring any campaign publicists; winning; and sending the entire CBC to prison within 6 months of her victory.”

Gettin McCain re-elected over a solid conservative candidate and scuttling any chance we’d have conservative Chcuk Devore face off against the numbskull Boxer.
It's always someone elses Palin's fault isn't it troll.

It's a well documented fact that DeVore and JD Hayworth didn't need any outside help losing their chances.

Were she elected as President, do you think that she'd quite in the middle of her term? [As she did as Governor.]>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Only if A$$ Haoles like you sued her on thousands of fraudulent ethics charges, which she had to defend out of her own pocket, unlikely , since the Attorney General of the Unnited States would be doing that work.

What Sarah did in resigning as governor was a mark of strategic genius, little understood by the small minded.

You need help. Read the ART of WAR by Sun Tzu, Shambhala edition.

Her personal story of carrying to term a Down’s child gives her unquestionable credibility with anti-abortion activists.

***********************

Good Lord, as if we’re ALL anti-abortion “activists.” Some of us are not activists, but rather just everyday decent people who KNOW and believe that abortion kills a live human being! Yes, types like Sarah DO have credibility with us — they believe as WE do.

Hey, jerk over at Time — because Sarah brough her baby to term doesn’t give her “credibility.” It just simply shows that she values life, loves her child, and has the courage to do what she knows is right ...not cop out and live selfishly.
