Major Hasan, 'Star Officer'
The Wall Street Journal ^ | * FEBRUARY 16, 2011 | Dorothy Rabinowitz

Posted on 02/15/2011 9:17:51 PM PST by Eva

Every branch of the military issued a final report on the Fort Hood massacre. Not a single one mentioned radical Islam.

In a month of momentous change, it was easy to overlook the significance of another revolutionary event. Who would have believed that in the space of a few weeks the leaders of the three major European powers would publicly denounce multiculturalism and declare, in so many words, that it was a proven disaster and a threat to society?

One after another they announced their findings—Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel, Great Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron, and France's President Nicolas Sarkozy. Multicultural values had not only led to segregated communities: They had, Mr. Cameron noted, imposed policies of blind toleration that had helped nurture radical Islam's terrorist cells.

There can be no underestimating the in-so-many-words aspect of these renunciations. This was multiculturalism they were talking about—the unofficial established religion of the universities, the faith whose requirements have shaped every aspect of cultural, economic and political life in Western democracies for the last 50 years. Still, they were out there—words coolly specific, their target clear

I think it took guts for Dorothy Rabinowitz to take on this subject. It flies in the face of all the post modernist progressive thinking, just at the time that Obama thinks he is about to triumph.

We will be watching the Hasan situation closely.

To anyone reading this thread: go to WSJ and read the Rabinowitz article in its entirety. It is well worth it.

Hasan should never have made it to Major, he should have been drummed out of the army.

I, for one, do not believe he made it so far without having someone, like Obama, as a supporter.

He made it to MAJ for two reasons:

1) political correctness

2) if you have a pulse, you’ll make MAJ

No grand conspiracies about it.

This gives me shivers to think about the fact that even the military is bending to the political correctness to this extent.

The article points out that he was consistently in the bottom 25% of his class and never should have made it to being a psychiatrist, just constantly pushed along.

How many more of our military men and women will have to die before they will admit the problem is Islam.

Hasan’s job performance reviews stank. But, he worked in the White House and was known to Barack Hussein Obama.

This ain’t no conspiracy, snake eater: he had an inside supporter.

P.S.: I was a cryto-linguist in NAVSECGRU, and dated snake eaters sea gull eaters both. Good luck on the ‘future’ part.

Blaming Obama is too easy a target in this argument. This form of political correctness has been infecting our military for the last 40 years. It started with racial concerns , then onto feminist indoctrination, through the whole spectrum of racial and religious diversity and now gay rights.
In a sad sense, I’m glad I retired 2 years ago and no longer have to attend their mandatory training sessions.

In 2100, 39% of the world population would be Muslim. Reproductive advantage is the ultimate competitiveness. The Anglo-Saxon race had wasted its opportunity to become a major race population wise, although it had vast land.

Spot on. There is also an unspoken pressure on the Army to get a return on their investment sending this guy to the Uniformed Services Medical School.

The sad thing that so few people have discussed is the fact that political correctness likely prevented his superiors from dealing with his radical and outspoken views. A single EEO complaint from a protected minority (muslim) would likely end a field grade officers career. When the promotion board sits down to choose who to promote to the next grade you sure don’t want an EEO complaint in your file no matter what finding was made. They still push your packet to the bottom of the pile because most everyone is squeeky clean with good reviews so it does not take much to seperate those who are eligible.

Assuming from your screenname here..... If you make it through the John Wayne School for boys at Ft. Drag (the beach with no water) you will be a proud member of one of the least PC outfits in the whole world. Best of luck and may God bless you and yours.

I think we can safely conclude the “management theory” practiced by the United States Military is a horrendous failure.

The Lieberman/Collins Panel report is mincing no words - including a good slap in the face to the WH -

http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/02/lieberman_collins_report_fort_hood_shooting_could.php

“He also blamed the Army's handling of Hasan ahead of the shooting on political correctness, given that Hasan’s presentations in the military sometimes justified attacks on the U.S. He also criticized the FBI, which knew of Hasan’s communications with al Awlaki, for not further investigating those ties.

Describing Hasan as a “human ticking time bomb,” Lieberman said it was important to call violent Islamic extremism what it is, and not use politically correct terms like violent extremism or workplace violence.

....”The enemy is violent Islamic extremism, and when you say that, it shouldn't offend Muslim-Americans, the overwhelming majority of whom are not violent Muslim extremists, they're patriotic law-abiding Muslim-American,” Lieberman said. “So in the Department of Defense I think they need to start by being truthful about what the enemy, who the enemy is here.”

...Collins: “”The administration is refusing to acknowledge that violent Islamic extremism is the ideology that fuels attacks,” said Sen. Collins.

In

“The refusal to distinguish violent Islamic extremism from the peaceful, protected exercise of the Muslim religion sends the wrong message,” she [Collins] said, “as it implies they can't be distinguished.”
Meanwhile Lieberman criticized the executive branch of government for refusing to use the term ‘Islamic extremists,’ saying, “I think some people in the administration feel it will compromise our relations with the broader Muslim world.”

In the first days after the shooting, I read a passing mention stating the Haasan had served on the HOmeland Security Board! that information disappeared quickly.

However, I understand there are still some Muslims on the board.

Golly. I wonder why we no longer have bomb sniffing dogs at the airports - MUCH better detectors than sex molesters. Hmmm - let's see, Muzzies hate dogs. To be sniffed by a dog, to them, would be the equivalent of us getting sexually molested.

I wonder why muzzies get such special treatment going through the TSA lines?

I lie - I don't wonder at all

Read the Lieberman/Collins report that just came out.

"The WON" has to be seething. He got a good slap in the face. T's were crossed and i's were dotted.

Hopefully, Congress will use this report to take action and make the changes needed.

Thanks for the links. While the Lieberman committee designates the failure to recognize radical Islam as the causative factor in the Hasan case, Rabinowitz goes further in suggesting that multi-cultural thinking is a failure.

If multi-cultural thinking is wrong, so is the relativity that leads to multi-culturalism, which means that condemning western culture as no better than any other culture is wrong as well. What Rabinowitz is doing is condemning post modernist thought.

She is one of my favorite writers and one of the last at WSJ. Dorothy took on the very sensitive and dangerous job of trying to save Gerald Amirault and Grant Snowden after they were “lynched” by the bi*ch who ran against Scott Brown (Croakley?) and Janet Reno.

No one would touch those stories. It took incredible bravery on he part. Thanks to Dortothy’s writing and other efforts, these innocent me eventually were freed. She is such a great writer.

Who bought the white hut in 2008? The same people who are the largest shareholders in Fox, 2nd largest in Disney/ABC, major shareholders in TW/CNN, major partner with GE/CNBC/MSNBC/NBC/Universal, did deals for Viacom/CBS and Bloomberg.

Same people who put the muslim in the white hut. The one bill O’Reilly is a huge cheerleader for along with his buddy Beck.

Thank goodness there is one good journalist left in Dorothy Rabinowitz. I am amazed her boss Murdoch/Al Waleed let her write this. I guess having a real Pulitzer for real writing helps.

If there was any justice in the world, this pos would have been waterboarded and after we had found out where he got his marching orders from, he would have died accidentally from a bullet wound to the brain.
I also believe that any ranking officer who gave this guy a pass at any time should be in Leavenworth making small rocks out of big ones.

If there were any real justice in this country, Hasan would never have made it to medical school as an affirmative action student and would not have been accepted into the military.

Affirmative action is part of restorative justice, which is goes with multi-culturalism and post modern thought.

Which is where the “political correctness” comes in. The promotion board saw his crappy OER, then saw his name and picture and decided we need more like him in the Army to show how tolerant we are.

We have politicized the military through political correctness and multi-culturalism. We are fighting an enemy that we refuse to identify and allowing civilian politicians to dictate military procedures and culture.

I do think that there really was a separate culture that defined the military, duty to God and country, defending freedom and the constitution, a kind of selflessness that required a surrender of individualism for the benefit of the whole, while in uniform. That’s gone, or on it’s way out.

There was no reason for the trial to be delayed this long for all the investigations except to protect the status quo.

good summation:

In magical thinking, safety and good come to those who obey taboos, and in the multiculturalist world, there is no taboo more powerful than the one that forbids acknowledgment of realities not in keeping with the progressive vision. In the world of the politically correct—which can apparently include places where psychiatrists are taught—magical thinking reigns.
