As Mary Elizabeth Williams wrote earlier this evening over at Salon, several reporters and bloggers have “decided to hinge the story” of Lara Logan’s rape “on the blond reporter’s looks.” Simone Wilson’s LA Weekly post mocks Logan’s beauty, saying, “Egyptian protesters apparently consummated their newfound independence by sexually assaulting the blonde reporter.” Consummated? Unconscionable.
The Mofo Politics blog featured a post on February 3rd, saying, “OMG if I were her captors and there were no sanctions for doing so? I would totally rape her.”

You suffer from the same thing many Americans do. Trying to put the responsibility of YOUR morality on other cultures. In Islam land it is not a crime to rape an infidel.
The Scorpion and the Frog
One day, a scorpion looked around at the mountain where he lived and decided that he wanted a change. So he set out on a journey through the forests and hills. He climbed over rocks and under vines and kept going until he reached a river.
The river was wide and swift, and the scorpion stopped to reconsider the situation. He couldn’t see any way across. So he ran upriver and then checked downriver, all the while thinking that he might have to turn back.
Suddenly, he saw a frog sitting in the rushes by the bank of the stream on the other side of the river. He decided to ask the frog for help getting across the stream.
“Hellooo Mr. Frog!” called the scorpion across the water, “Would you be so kind as to give me a ride on your back across the river?”
“Well now, Mr. Scorpion! How do I know that if I try to help you, you wont try to kill me?” asked the frog hesitantly.
“Because,” the scorpion replied, “If I try to kill you, then I would die too, for you see I cannot swim!”
Now this seemed to make sense to the frog. But he asked. “What about when I get close to the bank? You could still try to kill me and get back to the shore!”
“This is true,” agreed the scorpion, “But then I wouldn’t be able to get to the other side of the river!”
“Alright then...how do I know you wont just wait till we get to the other side and THEN kill me?” said the frog.
“Ahh...,” crooned the scorpion, “Because you see, once you’ve taken me to the other side of this river, I will be so grateful for your help, that it would hardly be fair to reward you with death, now would it?!”
So the frog agreed to take the scorpion across the river. He swam over to the bank and settled himself near the mud to pick up his passenger. The scorpion crawled onto the frog’s back, his sharp claws prickling into the frog’s soft hide, and the frog slid into the river. The muddy water swirled around them, but the frog stayed near the surface so the scorpion would not drown. He kicked strongly through the first half of the stream, his flippers paddling wildly against the current.
Halfway across the river, the frog suddenly felt a sharp sting in his back and, out of the corner of his eye, saw the scorpion remove his stinger from the frog’s back. A deadening numbness began to creep into his limbs.
“You fool!” croaked the frog, “Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?”
The scorpion shrugged, and did a little jig on the drownings frog’s back.
“I could not help myself. It is my nature.”
Then they both sank into the muddy waters of the swiftly flowing river.
Self destruction - “Its my Nature”, said the Scorpion...

The media should know by now you cannot put a western woman into these countries and around big crowds.
They have no respect for western non-muslim woman, they look at our women as animals who are there to be used for their entertainment.
She should know, the corrupt media we have should know but it does show how stupid or naive the left is when it comes to dealing with these countries and people.

Couldn’t agree with you more! It’s like saying it is a soldier’s fault that they got shot because they are a soldier and are in a war zone. Sure it increases the chance of it happening but it is not their fault.

Agreed. I can disagree with someone’s politics and still maintain a sense of humanity. NO ONE deserves to be raped. What she went through will affect her the rest of her life. IMHO
The New York Daily News is reporting she had already been ‘detained’ once by ‘Government’ forces - forced into a humiliating position and held for several hours. The Egyptian government booted her out of the country. She fought for a week to get back into the country so she could (I’m paraphrasing a bit here)’roam the streets and report the best story she could’ - her first day back into the country was the day she suffered the ‘assault’ by the celebrating ROP fans.
I guess she was too “liberal” for the rapists too, showing herself like some street whore.
Humans don’t mock rape victims, regardless of their ideology. And from others’ comments reposted on National Review, which might be misleading, she just may not be the anti-American you presume her to be.
Keep in mind, "conservatives" like Grover Norquist associates and hangs out with these Homo Habilis.

For the record, she defended Gen. McCrystal and is married to a defense contractor serving in Iraq.

3) This reporter is a good looking, white blond woman from South Africa... the crowd were evil demon muslims... they saw an opportunity to attack an infidel blond female and they did it... this is your religion of peace... ordained and instructed by the koran and their haddith.

Actually, Western Civ is about the only culture that universally condemns rape.
You suffer from lack of consistency, or perhaps you simply do not understand the fact that there are clear distinctions between right and wrong.
While the scorpion did “what came naturally,” he did wrong.
Is a thief justified because you leave your door unlocked? Or perhaps, just because you have more than he does?
If you even imply that the rapists are justified because this woman was there, then you do wrong. Is this what comes naturally to you?

It does not surprise me at all. As a class,reporters have low morals, bad character,and a Socialist worshipping complex. I don’t think that it has reached the point of Sodom where God promised Abraham that He would spare Sodom if there was one righteous reporter. There should be at least two remaining.

Hasn't been for a long time. It's worse when some people here justify rape based on ideology. I'm sure their wives, daughters,girlfriends appreciate their neanderthal outlook on women.
Is this part of the “journalistic ethics” I’ve heard about?
